Anji White Will Be Appearing In Marvel's 'Ironheart' Disney+ Series
The Riri Williams-centered series has already wrapped production
Another series regular has been discovered for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ limited series Ironheart.
Anji White is believed to be playing Riri Williams’s mother, Ronnie. The six-episode Ironheart series is created by Chinaka Hodge, and stars Dominique Thorne as Riri, a genius inventor at MIT and creator of the most advanced suit of armor, rivaling that of Tony Stark’s Iron Man. Thorne as Riri debuted in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, when her vibranium detector is stolen by the CIA, leading to her being hunted down by Talokan and Wakanda, with the latter nation rescuing her from the former. The series will see her come into her own as her own hero.
'Doctor Who' Welcomes Lenny Rush For Series 14
More casting was announced for Doctor Who on Thursday, and there’s possibility afoot. Lenny Rush has been cast in the new series as Morris. Rush is a 14-year-old with dwarfism who has already had several roles, including as Tiny Tim in a 2019 A Christmas Carol.
While a representative for Marvel declined to comment, White joins a cast previously announced to also consist of Anthony Ramos, Manny Montana, Shakira Barrera, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Paul Calderón and Cree Summer. Sacha Baron Cohen is said to be playing a villain believed to be Mephisto. She is probably best known for her role as Dibrell Smutney in Season 4 of FX’s Fargo, appearing in episodes of The CW series 4400, as well as The Chi, Empire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. White also appeared in the film Hope Springs Eternal.
Production had already wrapped on Ironheart by the time her casting was discovered, seemingly having been finished by the time of the writers’ strike or wrapped promptly so that the strikers didn’t need to disrupt it. The series is still scheduled to premiere in 2024 on Disney+.
