'Deadpool VR' Gets Release Date, New Trailer At Gamescom Opening Night
Hey Wade a minute! Gaming news!

The Merc with a Mouth’s Meta Quest 3 and 3S-exclusive VR game Deadpool VR comes back with a new trailer after just two months since Summer Gamesfest. Not only was that story trailer brought to Gamescom’s Opening Night, but a release date of November 18.
The story takes us inside Mojoworld, and it’s revealed the “sketchy contract” mentioned at the initial announcement was with Mojo, voiced by the John Leguizamo. He’s looking for a hit new show for his “massive, galaxy-spanning streaming network,” and has Deadpool to “recruit” new talent. Which actually means kidnapping some of the toughest villains in the galaxy and force them to fight to the death on a demented game show like it’s a Roman colosseum, DC Comics's Warworld or Power Rangers Ninja Steel’s Galaxy Warriors. Combatants include Mephisto, Lady Deathstrike, Omega Red, and the seemingly less popular Ultimo in order to honor Deadpool’s contract and become extremely rich. Mojo’s galactic audience is watching your every move, such as impalement, throwing guys off a ledge, or straight up decapitation, complete with Hamlet recitation.
'Marvel’s Deadpool VR' Game Announced At Summer Games Fest
The video game industry is in tumult, comic book superhero games far from the exception. I’ll get to that soon enough. Deadpool is getting a VR game? Well that’s alright then! Marvel’s Deadpool VR has been announced at Summer Game Fest, and is set to launch in late 2025 for Meta Quest 3 and 3S VR devices.
Such moves are made possible as Marvel’s Deadpool VR blends parkour with a freeform combat system that lets you get creative whether you’re hacking, slashing, or shooting. The flashier the game is played, the faster the player builds their arsenal with Deadpool’s special meter. Such arsenal includes Mojo-styled versions of iconic items, like being worthy enough to wield the mighty Mojo-nir hammer, or throw some of Mojo's Crazy Cajun Cards at enemies, causing them to explode. The arena might not bother with licensing music, but dozens of well-known licensed songs will be part of the game’s soundtrack, playing in Deadpool’s head. More information, possibly even a taste of that soundtrack, is to come.
Marvel’s Deadpool VR releases November 18 for $49.99, exclusively on Meta Quest 3 and 3S.
