Asha's Star Lights In Teaser Trailer For Disney's Next Animated Film 'Wish'
The film is set to be released on November 22
As promised during Walt Disney Studios’s CinemaCon presentation on Wednesday, which revealed Chris Pine as King Magnifico, the teaser trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios’s Wish was released Thursday morning on Good Morning America.
Magnifico reigns over Rosas, a wondrous land located off the Iberian Peninsula where wishes come true. But only because they’re relinquished to him and he is their granter. The sharp-witted 17-year-old idealist Asha is voiced by Ariana DeBose. Asha makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force called Star, called a “celestial ball of boundless energy”. Together, Asha and Star confront the formidable Magnifico to save her home and prove that amazing can occur when the will of one brave human connects with the magic of the stars.
Wish is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Chris Buck, co-director of the Frozen films and Tarzan, and written by studio CCO and fellow Frozen co-director Jennifer Lee as well as Allison Moore. Produced by Peter Del Vecho and co-produced by Juan Pablo Reyes, the film features original songs by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning Benjamin Rice, including “This Wish” with a score by Dave Metzger. Alan Tudyk voices Valentino in a very Patrick Stewart way thanks to the Star power, and he’s the only other confirmed cast member to this point.
Wish is set to be released in theaters on November 22. The teaser can be watched below.
