Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, And Carmen Electra Return For 'Good Burger 2'
Lil Rel Howery and Jillian Bell lead the cast of new characters for the sequel coming to Paramount+
Just cast for Good Burger 2? That'll be 8 bucks! Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios revealed Thursday morning that Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg and Carmen Electra will reprise their roles from Good Burger for its upcoming sequel, as well as new cast members including Lil Rel Howery and Jillian Bell.
Server plays Fizz, who primarily worked the drive-thru when he worked at Good Burger all those years ago. even in the All That sketches where the film originates (as much as they could show of it). He has probably moved on in the years since, hopefully finding success elsewhere as he's not called a current employee. Denberg will be playing Connie Muldoon again, it seems, for another cameo like she did in the first film, as the character recurred in the original sketches. No matter how small their presence is in the film, any was inevitable as Denberg and Server have been far from strangers to the film's stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, especially in recent years. Even in public appearances, there's conventions from San Diego and New York Comic-Cons 2016, Wild N' Out, Double Dare, and the eleventh season of All That, as well as '90s Con earlier this year. The friendship is clearly still there.
Carmen Electra meanwhile will be back as Roxanne, who in the original film was one of Kurt's henchpeople at Mondo Burger, probably well-distanced and made a good life for herself in the 25+ years since. In addition, a slew of new characters were also announced, led by Lil Rel Howery and Jillian Bell. Their roles are characters from what is evidently the main villain organization, MegaCorp. Bell, known for 22 Jump Street, Brittany Runs A Marathon, and Bill & Ted Face the Music plays Katt Boswell the CEO, while Howery, known for Get Out, Bird Box, and Free Guy, plays Cecil McNevin, the company lawyer. He has The Out-Laws, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, and the Disney+-headed Dashing Through The Snow coming this year, while Bell appeared in Murder Mystery 2 and the Charlie Day-directed Fool’s Paradise. They also both are set to star in Reunion together, but it’s not currently scheduled.
The newcomers in the cast include Alex R. Hibbert as Ed2, Ed's mini-me son and the restaurant's newest trainee. Ed's new (or newly-introduced) co-workers at Good Burger are as follows: Kamaia Fairburn as the cool and confident Mia, who works there to support her mother, Fabrizio Guido as Mr. Jensen, who struggles to keep the employees in line, and twins Elizabeth and Emily Hinkler as cooks Cindy and Mindy. Anabel Graetz's Ruth is the most senior staff member, the spiritual successor to Abe Vigoda's Otis in the original film. Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios tease that additional celebrity cameo announcements are still on the horizon. While it's looking unlikely that any of the All That season 11 cast members (which executive producers Thompson and Mitchell helped hire) will be part of it, there's still that slight chance the future announcements provide.
The film's premise tells of Thompson's Dexter Reed returning to Good Burger in need of a rebound after another invention fails. The longer term plan to rebound however accidentally endangers Good Burger's future again. It will be directed by Phil Traill and written and as executive produced by the writers of the original film, Kevin Kopelow & Heath Seifert, who were also major writers on All That, with additional writing from James III, who wrote with them on season 11. The director of the first film, Brian Robbins, was a producer of All That for its first ten seasons, and is now the current President and Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon. The film is scheduled to premiere around Thanksgiving on Paramount+.
