Marvel’s Vision Series Casts T’Nia Miller As Jocasta
Another Ultron creation has been introduced and cast in the series coming to Disney+
A casting director has cast a Jocasta. T’Nia Miller has been cast as Jocasta in Marvel Studios’s upcoming Disney+ series about Vision, played for the fifth live-action time by Paul Bettany. The series, whose title has still not been confirmed, continues the synthezoid/android’s story following his resurrection in WandaVision as he tries to regain his memory and humanity.
Jocasta is described as being cunning, powerful, determined, and motivated by revenge. The character was created by Jim Shooter and George Perez in 1977 and debuted in The Avengers (1963) #162, built by Ultron to be his bride, in a (Bride of) Frankenstein fashion. Her programming used Wasp Janet Pym’s brain patterns and attempted to drain her life force so Jocasta should have one. The Avengers would foil Ultron’s plan thanks to Jocasta’s own alert, and allow Janet’s husband Hank, who was brainwashed into doing the work by Ultron since he had the knowledge, to confiscate Jocasta’s lifeless husk of a body, intending to study her. However that apparently didn’t last long, as she was revived with a remote link. She would lead the Avengers into a trap before more solidly betraying her “mate”. Then she got abducted by The Collector before the Avengers retrieved her. From there, she’d be a recurring ally and sometimes member of the team. Previous adaptation appearances are too minor to note.
James Spader Returning As Ultron For Vision Disney+ Series
In a way, grandfather, father, and son return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2026. Emmy-winning actor James Spader will reprise his role as Ultron in Marvel Studios’s Disney+ series focused on Vision formerly known as Vision Quest.
Miller is a British actress, so she has a lot of British television credits. If she looks familiar to my audience, she appeared in Doctor Who as the next iteration of The General from “Day of the Doctor” played by Ken Bones, upon regeneration in series 9’s “Hell Bent”, the first gender-changing regeneration to happen onscreen, as well as the first to change from a Caucasian to a non-Caucasian. Nowadays, she’s something of a Mike Flanagan veteran, having appeared in both The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Fall of the House of Usher, which aired on Netflix. She’s also recurred on Apple TV+’s Foundation.
In addition to Bettany, The Blacklist star James Spader will be returning as Ultron for the first time since Vision destroyed him on his second day of life in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Another reprisal will be seen in Faran Tahir as Ten Rings member Raza, who first appeared and died in Iron Man. Todd Stashwick plays a (likely SWORD-hired) assassin on Vision’s trail to retrieve the technology he possesses in his composition, while Ruaridh Mollica plays Tucker. The showrunner is Terry Matalas, previously of 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard, who will direct episodes with Christopher J. Byrne, who also directed episodes on the former as well as American Gods and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Vincenzo Natali, known for his work on The Peripheral and Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. Filming is set to conclude next month for a 2026 premiere.
