Nickelodeon’s 'Danger Force' Is Ending This Week After Three Seasons
There’s a beautiful battle for Swellview!
This Wednesday, February 21, the Nickelodeon series Danger Force, the spin-off of their hit 2014-2020 series Henry Danger, is set to air its series finale after three seasons and 63 episodes. The imminent end of the series was actually first revealed during the NFL Nickmas game on Christmas Day, but the news being delivered by the game’s broadcaster Noah Eagle, there was disbelief and skepticism. Such was summarily put to rest when the promo for the two-part “The Battle of Swellview” aired after Wednesday’s episode “Ray Forgives” aired.
Explicitly acknowledged as “the last episode ever of Danger Force!”, "The Battle For Swellview" sees Danger Force learn of prophecy involving a hero-slaying monster known as as Big Dark Dynomite on its way to take over the city, just as newly-engaged Ray (played by Cooper Barnes) announce his retirement from crimefighting, ready to settle down with Credenza (Girl Meets World’s Cheryl Texiera) …unaware that she is the supervillain who summoned the monster. Now, they must face this big threat alone and find if they can rise to the occasion.
The setup for Danger Force was that over the final stretch of Henry Danger, four ordinary kids, Chapa (Havan Flores), Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (Dana Heath) and Bose (Luca Luhan), would accidentally acquire extraordinary superpowers. Their individual superhero names are Volt, AWOL, ShoutOut and Brainstorm. When Henry Hart (played by Jace Norman, who produces this series) decided to become his own hero after years of having been Kid Danger at the end of that series, Ray, known as the indestructible veteran superhero Captain Man and his assistant Schwoz (Michael D. Cohen) took the four new supers under their wing to train at the Swellview Academy for the Gifted, and become the title team. As such, they inherit Ray and Henry’s rogues gallery while expanding it with newly-introduced foes.
The series was developed and executive produced by Christopher J. Nowak while Dan Schneider & Dana Olsen, who created the mothership series, got creator credit. Barnes and longtime writer at Schneider’s Bakery Jake Farrow serve as executive producers. Production for Nickelodeon is overseen by Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, the Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Omar Camacho serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.
After 10 years and 196 episodes across three shows, the Dangerverse might seem at an end, but a Henry Danger movie has started production. With the recent cancellation of Erin & Aaron, only That Girl Lay Lay, Young Dylan, and The Really Loud House remain of their live action fare. The Danger Force series finale "The Battle For Swellview" airs Wednesday, February 21 at 7 PM on Nickelodeon and TeenNick.
