'Pokémon’ Original Saga Introduced To Prime Video Channel
It was bound to get there eventually. Gotta catch em all!
I can and Kanto believe what’s going on with Pokémon streaming. Turns out, when the Pluto TV channel played Mewtwo Strikes Back for the first time on Saturday, the Twitch channel followed it with their own. Not their first time of course, but it also meant Destiny Deoxys did not get then their Tuesday and Thursday anime streams reset to Kanto after having completed season 20, the first season of Sun & Moon. Coincidentally, that season ends with the field trip to Kanto where Ash reunites with Brock and Misty, whom Kiawe and he battle respectively at the Cerulean Gym because franchise 20th anniversary celebrations. It certainly put a damper on hopes of seeing the Journeys series making its long-awaited Twitch debut anytime soon. But how’s that new Prime Video channel doing? More Kanto you say? Let’s get into that.
As previously reported, the channel launched on June 4 with the Ruby and Sapphire series, Advanced, Advanced Challenge, Advanced Battle, and Battle Frontier, completing several loops of that. Last Sunday, June 8, had a water themed marathon that ran more than once, however it consisted of only original series episodes, seven in fact, kind of like recent Twitch anime days are. Those episodes were “Here Comes the Squirtle Squad” “Beach Blank-Out Blastoise”, “The Lost Lapras”, “The Pokémon Water War”, “Viva Las Lapras”, “A Hot Water Battle” and “Just Add Water”. Though all the already-described bumpers were all using original series footage from Kanto to the battle with Drake the Orange Crew leader to spotlights on the Johto starters. But early Sunday, probably around midnight Eastern, after another full round of Ruby and Sapphire, the original series began. Last I saw it was on “Pace — The Final Frontier!” and by the time I saw it again it had started “Ash Catches a Pokémon” at 1:02 AM.
WildBrain Gains Ash Ketchum’s Final 'Journeys' For 'Pokémon' FAST Channels
On Wednesday, I discovered that WildBrain had expanded its FAST channel footprint for the Pokémon anime with a 24/7 Prime Video channel. I can now confirm it was brand new as a press release was released after publishing my piece. But that wasn’t all. The company announced it had acquired the appropriate rights to Ash Ketchum’s final series as protagoni…
Now, even so many hours later I don’t have a way of knowing how much will be introduced after this before the Hoenn saga shows up again. Still, it seemed pretty worth the update and it is pretty good to track the channel as it reaches its full potential.
'Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League' Vrooms To An HBO Max Date
Warner Bros.’s direct-to-video output is looking to be pretty dry this year, but it’s not completely barren. None of last year’s offerings, the three-part Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths and the two-chapter Watchmen got press releases regarding each
