Easter may be over, but that’s not going to stop Adult Swim from cutting a Rick and Morty season 8 trailer that seems to be chock full of scenes from the fourth episode “The Last Temptation of Jerry”, which has been the most promoted of the episodes so far, no doubt for seasonal reasons. Releasing said trailer the day after Easter Monday (which is recognized in 50 countries that aren’t the United States; we’re not here for that lesson) isn’t a bad day to do it as the May 25 season premiere creeps closer.
After some scenic establishing shots, the first recognizable scene is the fully-realized, finished version of the animatic from the title reveal for “Summer of All Fears”, which has Morty and Summer hooked up to one of Rick’s machines, but there’s an error. Later on Rick zaps himself and lands in one of its chairs. Cut to Space Christians, armed. Rick of course fights back. The pursuit might be from the same conflict, Morty works on a Death Race car when he isn’t supposed to, and we’ve got the return of the Federation. Jerry gets frozen in crystals on Beth’s intention, there’s even some goings-on with Ricks of the multiverse. A monster breaks loose, as Rick witnessed with Space Beth as they deal with the Galactic Federation. Including the coughing scene, this might come from “Valkyrick”, the second episode of the season. We see that the cornfield Rick and Morty crash into “The Rick, the Mort, and the Ugly” is some sort of crystalline corn so it makes sense in a sci-fi way that even as atypical it’s still used for fuel. Munch down that cabbage Jerry! But yeah there’s a lot of the Easter stuff here, but not much from the last four episodes. Maybe some of Space Beth’s slicing of non-Gromflomites is from “The Curicksous Case Of Bethjamin Button”.
'Rick And Morty' Season 8 Episode Titles Revealed
It’s only been nine days since Adult Swim revealed the May 25 premiere date for the eighth season of its hit animated series Rick and Morty. Twelve minutes after getting my coverage of its second preview clip published, the network released a video unveiling the season’s ten episode titles. However, while last time titles were presented on episode-relev…
I would not be surprised that even if there’s no breaks this season, there might be a midseason trailer to better show as much as they can without revealing what they don’t want to. Season eight of Rick and Morty is the second for Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden as Rick and Morty respectively after series co-creator and former star Justin Roiland was fired. The series also stars Sarah Chalke as Beth, Chris Parnell as Jerry and Spencer Grammer as Summer. It’s executive produced by other co-creator Dan Harmon and Scott Marder, who also serves as showrunner. With a typical 10-episode season, the season would therefore finish on July 27. The season is set to arrive on Max and Hulu on September 1, the Monday 5 weeks after. Watch the trailer below.
