ʼSouth Parkʼ Is Banking On Mega Cred In Next Paramount+ Special
Called “(Not Suitable For Children)”, the only ads officially released before premiere were banners in website advertising space and print posters.
South Park has just completed its third year of Paramount+ specials, and you might not have known so before this. After all, it is 12 days until 2024, and “Joining the Panderverse” was released in late October. But it’s two specials a year until 2027, and just under the wire comes “(Not Suitable For Children)”, with its teaser only officially being released on the day of the special’s release Wednesday in the United States and Canada.
In the special, according to the official logline South Park Elementary art teacher Ms. Streibel has a lucrative OnlyFans page, and so Randy goes balls out and decides to explore the seedy underbelly of the world of online influencers. When wife Sharon takes it on too, he grows extra competitive and doubles down, even incorporating Cred, the “hydration” drink that the South Park Elementary students are deeply into.
The special’s teaser was only featured as YouTube advertising in the last couple of weeks. Some advertising showed up as banners on websites such as GamesRadar, ScreenRant and ComicBook, and some publicly hung posters, but otherwise “(Not Suitable For Children)” had very little advertising for unknown reasons. The special’s international rollout starts tomorrow, December 21 in the United Kingdom, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy on Dec. 23, with further rollout happening later.
The annual duo of double length specials seem to serve as the seventh through tenth episodes of South Park seasons this decade, drawing ire from Warner Bros. Discovery that triggered a lawsuit accusing under-delivery of episodes for the regular seasons that the company has rights to stream on Max.
