'Transformers: EarthSpark' Goes On The Prowl In Season 3 Trailer
Eight episodes are set to premiere on Paramount+ on October 25. Yes, as its own season.
The episode formatting of Paramount+’s Transformers: EarthSpark is about to get very DreamWorks-y. Just 4 months after releasing the first ten episodes of season 2, which followed a 26-episode first season dropped in three batches, the next batch of eight episodes is ready to drop on October 25. Except, they’re straight up being called season 3. While the trailer came on ten days’ notice, the streamer’s list of arrivals was released on September 24, which did contain the relevant item.
Being another 30-second trailer, it doesn’t show a lot, but there is some sort of bot infection that consumes them in a red aura. These episodes will see a giant-size dome divides the Maltos’ home of Witwicky to trap the Decepticons inside. Problem is, it can't hold them forever. The Malto family and the Autobots will receive help from an unlikely place while under threat from a mysterious saboteur. Robby and Mo face a ruthless enemy who challenges their right to wield the power of Quintus Prime.
Transformers: EarthSpark continues to star Sydney Mikayla as Robby Malto, Zion Broadnax as Mo Malto, Benni Latham as Dot Malto, Jon Jon Briones as Alex Malto, Kathreen Khavari as Twitch, the ubiquitous Zeno Robinson as Thrash, Danny Pudi as Bumblebee, Creature Commandos and Resident Alien’s Alan Tudyk as Optimus Prime, Rory McCann as Megatron, The Owl House’s Cissy Jones as Elita-1, Diedrich Bader as Mandroid, Cyrus Arnold as Jawbreaker, Z Infante as Nightshade and Stephanie Lemelin as Hashtag. Eric Bauza joins as Prowl, an “old-world” Autobot detective who is instinctual and trusts the facts. He's not so fond of Optimus' new alliances, but always finds the truth. There’s also Right Now Kapow and Ghosts’s Betsy Sodaro as the five-headed, egotistical, yet wise but also dangerous Quintesson Judge, Commander of the Quintessons, who position themselves as the first "sons" of Quintus Prime, believing it is her birthright to possess the power of the Emberstone. "Weird Al" Yankovic as Cosmos, Zelda Williams as Spitfire, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea as Aftermath, and Richard Ayoade as Fairmaestro are all set to return as guest stars.
The series is created and co-executive produced by Dale Malinowski and executive produced by Ant Ward, both of whom came from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was developed for television by Claudia Spinelli, the Senior Vice President of TV Animation for Nickelodeon. Production is overseen for Hasbro Entertainment by Kari Rosenberg and by Leslie Wishnevski for Nickelodeon.
In recent weeks, linear premieres returned to Nickelodeon in a Saturday 7 AM timeslot. Unless there was any reduction in the episode order, EarthSpark should be getting a “fourth season” of the final eight episodes of season 2, and this “four-season run” might be where they end it. At least that’s conclusion from observation. It’s a very weird turn that just feels like it’s going to justify future decisions As for “season 3” that date again is October 25, and a soundtrack is available right now. And as with any score soundtrack, those titles can give quite the idea of what the episodes entail.
