A Guy, A Girl, And A Peacemaker Make The Lord’s Work In 'Peacemaker' Season 2 Teaser Trailer
Three and a half years later, the new season premieres on August 21
Merry Chris Smith everyone! After a sneak peek teaser earlier in the week that played during TNT’s NBA Playoffs coverage, the full official teaser trailer for Max’s Peacemaker, transplanting from the previous DC Extended Universe to the new DC Universe, has been released. Said teaser also confirms the August 21 premiere date, while a poster was released the day prior
Peacemaker, played once again by John Cena, is given words of encouragement ahead of his interview with the Justice League. But this is the new DC Universe, so it’s of course not the same team that showed up on the shores at the end of last season. Instead, he’s met with Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner Green Lantern, and Sean Gunn’s Maxwell Lord, giving a surprise answer as to when the character would first appear, as when his casting was reported in December 2023, it wasn’t clear where, and there would only be mentions on things like newspapers, bottom-thirds news-tickers etc. It quickly becomes clear the trio would rather be anywhere else, telling Peacemaker he sucks with mics on because they were too disinterested to turn it off. Mr. Smith runs off on the verge of tears, so Leota must give more words of encouragement on the drive back. Meanwhile Emilia Harcourt (played by Jennifer Holland)’s therapy uncovers her toxic masculinity. And how does Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. get involved? He’s now the head of ARGUS, and of course he has the bone to pick with Smith for killing his son in The Suicide Squad, and thus closely monitoring him. Tim Meadows as A.R.G.U.S. agent Langston Fleury commands a little squadron not very fond of the code names he gives them. Fights, action, explosions and a rousing speech for the 11th Street Kids wrap things up, with a Peacemaker putting a gun to Christopher’s head, asking who the hell he is.
'Peacemaker' Sizzles With Season 2 Premiere Date In New Max Reel
It’s so close you’ll be ready to taste it. HBO has handed The White Lotus’s timeslot over to the second season of The Last of Us upon finishing its third season. This was apparently an occasion momentous enough for Max to release another sizzle reel. While the one released in November had the first footage for season 2 of
As a reminder, Maxwell Lord in the comics was originally an important ally to the Justice League, most notably in the formation of the Justice League International, so there’s definitely some inspiration here. The season also welcomes Sol Rodriguez as Sasha Bordeaux and David Denman whose role has not been revealed yet. As for other returnees, they are Freddie Stroma (Adrian Chase / Vigilante), Steve Agee (John Economos), Nhut Le (Judomaster), and Robert Patrick as Chris’s dad, the late, now ghostly August Smith / White Dragon. Economos and Stroma at least had some presence in the trailer. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones directed the five episodes DC Studios co-CEO and series writer and creator James Gunn did not. Mottola directed episodes two and three in particular. The eight-episode second season of Peacemaker begins on August 21 on Max.
