'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' Sets Disney+ Debut Date
The 31st film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is headed to streaming
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is headed home. Disney and Marvel Studios have confirmed that the third Ant-Man film will arrive on Disney+ on May 17.
That’s a gap of 89 days, just 6 more than Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was added on day 71, Thor: Love and Thunder was added on day 63. Eternals was right in the middle at 68 days. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness only took 47 days. It seems Disney is moving back closer to 90-day windows in some fashion, though the film’s digital marketplace release occurred on April 18, and its physical release, on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD will occur one day before on May 16.
In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, his daughter Cassie, girlfriend Hope van Dyne, the Wasp, and her parents Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, their heroic predecessors, go deeper than ever before into the Quantum Realm and are faced with the powerful Kang the Conqueror. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, the film also stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Kathryn Newton, and the recently-embattled Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar, with appearances from Randall Park and Ruben Rabasa. The film has made over $400 million at the global box office.
Marvel has released a date reveal teaser that can be watched below. Strangely, despite being released in theaters two months after Avatar: The Way of Water, and the latter having a far bigger box office gross, that still doesn’t have a streaming release date.
