'Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert' Takes On 20th Anniversary Tour
More musical genius is just around the bend to come to a city near you
Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert is getting some new legs, Nickelodeon and parent company Paramount announced Tuesday. The orchestral concert series that plays the music of the beloved three-season 2005-2008 Nicktoon has officially announced its 2025 tour, officially branded as a 20th anniversary celebration. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 2 on the Avatar in Concert website, for shows that kick off on Sunday, September 14 in Iowa City and hit more than 80 cities worldwide, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, London, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, and Stockholm, with more locations to be announced later.
Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert has a live orchestra performs the music by the show’s Emmy Award-winning composer Jeremy Zuckerman, in sync and context with the dialogue, sound effects and action on screen working with original series editor Jeff Adams. The 20th Anniversary Tour is now “elevated with a once-in-a-lifetime cinematic experience,” according to Paramount and tour producers GEA Live and Senbla. “This special anniversary edition features a two-hour visual journey through all three seasons of the iconic animated series, projected on a full-size cinema screen with new elements and artistic surprises crafted for this special anniversary edition that offers fresh perspectives on the show’s legacy.” The show’s instrumentation includes the taiko, or Japanese drums, and Chinese two-stringed instrument the erhu, also known as a spike fiddle, promising “soaring strings and delicate woodwinds.”

Now this is a song everyone can sing along to. Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert, the concert series celebrating the beloved 2005-2008 Nicktoon, will be going on a 100-city world tour starting in September.
“Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert marks the 20th anniversary of this franchise in a way that joyfully celebrates the connection fans have with the original series,” said Pam Kaufman, Paramount’s president and CEO of International Markets, Global Consumer Products & Experiences. “We are thrilled to be able to bring this experience to new cities worldwide, with some fun surprises in store for concert attendees.” The surprises weren’t elaborated on, but a privy source remarked “new surprises, extended pieces, and creative touches added just for this milestone tour,” as fans experience the story and characters in a fresh new way, even between the two tours.
Floris Douwes, producer and GEA Live’s managing director, and Senbla CEO Ollie Rosenblatt are proud of the success of the initial launch. “Since the concert launched in 2024, the tour has played over 200 shows and sold 400,000 tickets worldwide, which is a rare milestone that reflects just how deeply this series continues to resonate with fans of all ages.”
“When I started work on Avatar: The Last Airbender, it was a dream to have the music performed by an orchestra,” said Zuckerman. “Now, over 20 years later, with the concert tour, that dream has come true in a way I never could have imagined. Nickelodeon Orders 'Avatar: Seven Havens', First Series From Avatar Studios
It’s a very happy anniversary for Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. On the eve of its 20th anniversary, the network has announced that the franchise’s third full-length animated series, Avatar: Seven Havens, has not only been greenlit but is currently in production.
