Captain America-Black Panther Game 'Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra' Revealed; Set For 2025 Release
It’s a rip-roaring World War II adventure!
At the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase at D23 Expo in 2022, Marvel Games and Skydance New Media announced a title that would see Captain America Steve Rogers team up with the Black Panther, the mantle being held by T’Challa’s grandfather T’Chanda aka Azzuri in the midst of World War II. Now, a year and a half later, kicking off Epic Games’s “State of Unreal” presentation at the 2024 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco Wednesday, the game has been revealed to be Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, set to be released in 2025.
Cap and Azzuri are defInitely butting heads making a very friction-filled teamup. Not only are Azzuri and Steve Rogers playable, voiced by Khary Payton and Drew Moerlein respectively, but Nanali, a Wakandan spy planted in occupied Paris, voiced by Megalyn Echikunwoke, and Howling Commando Gabriel Jones, voiced by Marque Richardson. Apparently, who the player plays as shifts over the course of gameplay. The cast also features Lyne Renée as Julie, an important ally in the French Resistance, and Joel Johnstone as Tony’s (eventual) dad Howard Stark. The game’s composer is Grammy-winner Stephen Barton, whose other work includes Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Trek: Picard, Apex Legends, Titanfall, and 12 Monkeys.
New 'Blade' Game Announced At The Game Awards 2023
Bethesda Softworks and Marvel Games announced that Marvel’s Blade is in development. Based on the beloved vampire hunter from Marvel Comics, the game comes from Arkane Lyon, who created the Dishonored series and its 2021 followup Deathloop. A teaser trailer was released during this year’s The Game Awards on Thursday.
Inspired by the limited series Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers, the game is a story-driven action-adventure written and directed by Amy Henning, who worked as a creative director on the Uncharted games, and has said this game will be like a “living room experience”.was developed using Epic’s 3D creation tool Unreal Engine 5 and likely became a stepping stone for the Epic-Disney deal announced on February 7. Disney revealed it invested a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games, marking Disney’s “biggest foray into the game space ever,” and would be creating a “huge Disney universe” in their biggest game, Fortnite. More Disney+-original Marvel and Star Wars series have found their way out of being only available through the service. Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Moon Knight will each be getting individual 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases,in Steelbooks being called “collectible packaging”, with pre-orders starting on March 12.
