'Cobra Kai' Final Season Trailer Shouts Secrets To The End
Part 1 of the 'Karate Kid' series’s final season premieres July 18, followed by its subsequent parts on November 28 and sometime next year
The best YouTube Red series around is heading to the end, and it is loud. With the calendar turning to July, Netflix has released the trailer for part one of the 15-episode final season of Cobra Kai, which premieres July 18. As revealed in May, parts 2 and 3, the latter the “finale event”, will premiere November 28 and in 2025 respectively.
The Sekei Taikei tournament is approaching. The students of Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang must up their training as they face the best in the world. While both dojos are now allied, as the trailer shows there’s still plenty of friction between them, especially Sam and Tory, Miguel and Robby, and the now 40 years going between Daniel and Johnny. The latter pair still has to try and balance both of their teaching styles as the tournament creeps closer, their biggest yet. More trouble from Kreese is brewing with his own crew of nefarious allies, while Daniel, Chozen and Amanda discover a box full of secrets from Miyagi’s past. Chozen is weary of what opening it and revealing its contents will do to them. Part one’s episode titles have also been revealed, implying that the three parts have been divided equally: “Peacetime in the Valley”, “The Prize”, “Sleeper”, “Underdogs” and “Best of the Best”.
Cobra Kai stars William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence and Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, alongside Xolo Maridueña as Johnny’s first student Miguel Diaz, Courtney Henggeler as Daniel’s wife Amanda LaRusso, Tanner Buchanan as Johnny’s son Robby Keene, Mary Mouser as daughter Samantha LaRusso, Jacob Bertrand as the aggressive Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz, Peyton List as Tory Nichols, Vanessa Rubio as Miguel’s mother and Johnny’s pregnant girlfriend Carmen Diaz, Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny Payne, Alicia Hannah-Kim as Kim Sun-yung’s granddaughter Kim Da-eun, Griffin Santopietro as son Anthony LaRusso, Oona O’Brien as Devon Lee, Gianni DeCenzo as Demetri Alexopoulos, and Martin Kove as John Kreese. Who else will be reprising roles originated from the movies is unknown, but so far that has included Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills from the first film, Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko and Yuji Okumoto as Chozen Toguchi from II, and Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, Sean Kanan as Mike Barnes, and Robin Lively as Jessica Andrews from III, who is now Daniel’s wife’s cousin.
Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Macchio and Zabka also executive produce, while Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett do so for Westbrook Studios along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. The finale of Cobra Kai won’t be the only thing from the franchise next year, as a new theatrical The Karate Kid film will star Macchio’s LaRusso and Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han from the 2010 film but none of the Cobra Kai kids, instead Ben Wang as Li Fong, with other new faces in the supporting cast including Joshua Jackson, Ming Na, and Sadie Stanley. It is currently set for a May 30, 2025 release. Whether that’s still before the Cobra Kai finale is unknown, but it’s probable. It would’ve been a couple of weeks after part 2 on the original December 13 date.
