'Deadpool & Wolverine', 'What If…?' Season 3, And All Of Marvel Television 2025 Get Disney+ Premiere Dates
Marvel Studios released a “Look Ahead” sizzle reel featuring the first publicly-released footage of all the new 2025 series, including 'Ironheart' and 'Wonder Man'
Marvel Studios is about to have a very busy 2025, even without Blade. With the release of Agatha All Along’s final two episodes imminent, those on Disney+ reliving the series thus far or catching up were treated to a sneak peek sizzle reel playing in front of it. It took until 9 AM Eastern on Wednesday morning to get its actual, properly-shareable release, and YouTube took about a half hour longer. Not only did we get the Disney+ release date for summer box office smash Deadpool & Wolverine, but the premiere date for the third and final season of What If…? and dates and windows for all six 2025 releases from Marvel Television and Animation. Or at least, confirmed Daredevil: Born Again’s which was announced at New York Comic Con two weekends ago and revealed the rest. And of course, they'll only be on Disney+.
Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Matthew Macfadyen, and Emma Corrin, will arrive on the streamer on November 12, just 4 days from the November 8 theatrical release of was dated for from October 2022 to June 2023, and just about a year after it had its final release date change, where it landed on July 26. From that July 26 date it will have taken 110 days to get to Disney+, basically a week longer than Inside Out 2 took, which really shows how much Disney has let the major releases simmer. Since marking the billion-dollar gross milestone, it has risen to $1.34 billion worldwide, becoming the 20th-highest-grossing film of all time, the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time and the second-highest-grossing film of 2024, a split of $636.6 million domestic and $700.8 million internationally. A bathroom-themed teaser was released soon after the look ahead.
What If…? officially makes Christmas week its home, just in time to end with its third and final season. While daily releases were not confirmed in this teaser, a December 22 release date was given. The Sam Wilson Captain America-led Avengers with mechs definitely got some footage in here, and Shang-Chi is a cowboy, in his first appearance since the sacred timeline version's debut asking if you’re ready for an adventure. Before this teaser, this was the product with the most previously and publicly-released material.
Even for the 2025 shows, the look ahead is not in chronological order. It kicks off with Daredevil: Born Again, which was already announced to premiere March 4, with not only the previously-described elements like Murdock and Fisk’s conversation, as well as plenty of fights and action. Prunes the Foggy and Karen appearances but has Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and continues the running gag that hey, Murdock is a really good lawyer. Next up we have Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which has been given a January 29 premiere date. The footage shown is brief but shows off Peter’s fighting prowess in an alleyway fight. It’s a near three-month “delay” from what was at least designated at the copyright office, but hey, it’s October 30, there was no way it was premiering Friday with absolutely zero promotion or a grander cast reveal, which at least this starts the march toward.
A late January start will allow the first two issues of a 5-issue prequel comic series by the animated series’ name to release prior to premiere, with the first issue in December. It’s written by Christos Gage and drawn by artist Eric Gapstur. “I've had the privilege of writing a lot of Spider-Man's adventures, both in comics and in the Insomniac video games, but one thing I've never gotten the chance to do is recount his earliest exploits,” Gage said. “And the exciting part about this book is it's a brand new take on those formative times… this is definitely Peter Parker, the Spidey we know and love…”
Ironheart, starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams following her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will finally debut on June 24. The look is considerably pared down from the one the D23 audiences got, but does share the “I want to build something undeniable” line. The on-road flight (test?) made it in, while we also see the new suit, the most advanced suit of armor since Tony Stark’s many models, get put on and punch a truck. The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos, claims anyone who has done anything “iconic” in life has had to do questionable things to make it happen. That would be such as working with The Hood. The D23 footage retained the context that Riri is attempting to get out of a creative rut. Shes doing so by skipping classes, focusing all her energy on her armor project, draining the university’s resources. She’s promptly found out and expelled from MIT. Needing money, that’s when she turns to The Hood. Ironheart, created by Chinaka Hodge, will be six episodes and also star Anji White as her mother Ronnie Williams, Manny Montana, Shakira Barrera, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Paul Calderón and Cree Summer. And reportedly Sacha Baron Cohen. Like with Daredevil: Born Again, June 24 is a Tuesday, so expect primetime premieres.
That is because it will be directly pass the baton to the animated Eyes of Wakanda anthology miniseries, which premieres Wednesday, August 6. We don’t see much here, but Noni, the “disruptor” of the hidden nation attempting to expose some of its corruption, does declare she is ready. The series follows Wakandan warriors who have traveled around the world throughout history to find dangerous vibranium artifacts. Another four-episode miniseries, Marvel Zombies, will fittingly be next year’s Halloween offering, with an October window, format unclear. Looking just like What If…?, which featured the original Marvel Zombies episode, zombified Dora Milaje is seen, while Alexei Shostakov, the Red Guardian declares the battle will be “sung about for ages”. He is seen with Yelena Belova and Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, who is said to be the central character of the series. But they’re only seen background to another figure, and reportedly it is Blade, in this world as the Fist of Khonshu. Yes, it is Blade as Moon Knight that will be Mahershala Ali’s first onscreen appearance as the character.
And finally, after 28 months, we have the official announcement of Wonder Man starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, who goes into an audition for the role of Wonder Man. Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery seems to be his closest friend in the business, seen fiddling with his ring light among other activities together. The series also stars Demetrius Grosse, Byron Bowers and apparently Ed Harris and Josh Gad. Being a ten-episode series premiering in December, it’s very likely that this will also be the first series of 2026.
