'Digman!' Follows 'South Park' Deeper Into July
Comedy Central made the right, reasonable move. Season 2 debuts July 23
Comedy Central has made the correct corresponding decision. The second season of Digman!, its animated series starring Andy Samberg was set to premiere on Wednesday, July 9 at 10:30 PM behind the new season of South Park, both shows not having had a new linear episode since 2023. The sudden two-week delay announcement to July 23 for the latter for two very limboistic reasons would have left Digman! to fend for itself for the first two episodes of its season without a reliable, highly-anticipated lead-in. On Thursday, it was announced that the show has made the same transfer to July 23, same time, same gafish channel.
Set in a world where archaeologists are massive celebrities and the coolest people on the planet, Digman! would have been put in a scenario inverse to how season 1 ran. The first two episodes ran behind the last two of South Park season 26’s linear run, while the last six ran alone without such lead-in. Rip Digman began the series a retired adventurer haunted by the death of his wife Bella, and so assembled a team of experts. He travels with them to dangerous parts of the world to unearth legendary artifacts and grow their reputations as fearless adventurers.
'South Park' Season 27 Premiere Delayed Two Weeks By Comedy Central
If you were hoping to have a smooth night of premieres next Wednesday, July 9 with the first two episodes of the new season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on FXX before moving over to Comedy Central for the new season premieres of South Park and
Digman! also stars Mitra Jouhari as Saltine, Dale Soules as Agatha, Guz Khan as Zane, Melissa Fumero as Bella, Tim Robinson as Swooper, and Tim Meadows as Quail Eegan. Samberg and Neil Campbell created, wrote and produced the series produced by CBS Studios alongside Ali Bell and The Lonely Island’s Party Over Here banner. Titmouse will executive produce, with their own Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina. While the troubles the South Park crew are facing technically become the indirect cause of the Digman! delay, Samberg and Campbell have not put out any statement, let alone so (understandably) frustration-imbued. Check out the new key art below that reflects the delay.
