'Fortnite' Gets An Arlen Brown Burger Tie For Father’s Day, Adding Hank Hill, Bob Belcher, And Cleveland Brown
Old friends and new friends and even a game. Good times, bad times, a new gaming chair
There are a lot of happy mustached faces this Father’s Day. Fortnite is bringing in Hank Hill from King of the Hill, Bob Belcher from Bob’s Burgers, and Cleveland Brown from Family Guy (and The Cleveland Show) as part of a promotion with 20th Television Animation. They’re each rather familiar with Peter Griffin, who joined the game in December 2023. Players will be able to purchase items as either a bundle or a la carte, and is seemingly a rather unexpected point of synergy born from Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in the game.
The promotional blurb reads “Maybe you’re a Bob – serving puns rarer than your burgers. Or a Hank? Passionate about propane and silently judging uneven lawns. Or maybe you’re a Cleveland – you love minor league baseball and hats and ooze classic dad charm.” What does each character have? Bob’s bundle is 3,200 V-Bucks, while his outfit is 1500, his pickaxe is his spatula at 500 VB, his backbling is a 400 VB Flying Burger, and he has two emotes also each worth 400 VB: Bob’s Happy Dance and Burger of the Day. Cleveland’s bundle is 2,900 V-Bucks, while his outfit is individually 1,500. His backbling is his mailbag at 200 VB, his pickaxe his mailbox at 800 VB. He only has one emote however, a 400 VB Mailman’s Stroll. Hank’s bundle costs the most: 3,500 V-Bucks while his outfit on its own is 1,500 as well. His pickaxe is Sirloin’d Tongs for 800 VB, and his backbling is a Strickland Propane Tank worth 200 VB. While he only has Alley Hangout as his emote at 500 VB, he also has a gas gauge as a wrap, also 500 VB.
Peter Griffin Enters 'Fortnite' With Barely A Giggle
It seems today that all you see are battle royales on consoles, and mobile licensees. But where are those shitty licensed video games on which we used to rely? Well Fortnite isn’t quite one of them, but it’s gathered quite the hive of non-video game-originating characters. Chapter 5, called Under Ground (even though it has nothing to do with subterranea…
Notably, this is the only real major video game presence Bob and Hank have ever had, especially as playable characters, though there was apparently a mediocre King of the Hill game back in 2000. Family Guy’s last video game on console came in 2012, just a year after Bob’s Burgers debuted. Fully-produced licensed video games on console specifically for TV shows and movies, especially how much they were being handed out back in the day, were kinda dying by the time Bob’s had truly broken out.
The arrival trailer for the trio sees them playing as themselves, and unlike Peter’s trailer, they’re fully voiced, by Mike Judge, H. Jon Benjamin, and Arif Zahir respectively. Or at least Hank, aka Propaninator, was playing, but by the time they check in, he’s on break, ready to guzzle down a Gurp at his usual spot at the fence. Maybe he was waiting for the arrival for the first publicly-released scenes of the revival, premiering August 4 on Hulu, in the form of a Father’s Day advice video. It opens with him observing what is likely a Saudi market. Back home, Bobby arrives and Hank shifts from a hug to a handshake. First, keep things simple, and in his case, even as Bobby brews his own beer which promises lore. Hank disagrees, beer just needs a fridge to be cold in, because nobody likes warm beer. He then gives his rideshare driver 4 stars, because there’s always room for improvement. And finally, don’t forget who’s in charge, and Hank doesn’t take Bobby seriously at his offer to take over the grill.
'Marvel’s Deadpool VR' Game Announced At Summer Games Fest
The video game industry is in tumult, comic book superhero games far from the exception. I’ll get to that soon enough. Deadpool is getting a VR game? Well that’s alright then! Marvel’s Deadpool VR has been announced at Summer Game Fest, and is set to launch in late 2025 for Meta Quest 3 and 3S VR devices.
