Grant Sputore To Direct Next Monsterverse Movie From Legendary
Legendary is indeed moving fast following up on 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire'
The Monsterverse may not be a new empire, but Legendary has found the emperor per se for the next movie. I Am Mother director Grant Sputore has signed on to direct the next film, which is being written by Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’s Dave Callaham.
Sputore began as a commercial director, with work globally recognized at every major advertising award show, including the D&AD, Clios, Cannes Lions, Spikes, NY Festivals, London International and AWARD. His 2019 feature debut I Am Mother premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to quite the positive reception, and starred Hilary Swank, Clara Rugaard, and Rose Byrne.
Adam Wingard Will Not Direct Next Monsterverse Film Written By David Callaham

With how quickly they want this new installment to come along the schedules would just not align. In the decade since 2014’s Godzilla, the Monsterverse is still reaching new heights as The New Empire became the highest grossing film in the franchise with $571.2 million, overtaking 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, which earned $568 million. The franchise has expanded to television with the Apple TV+ series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters starring Kurt and Wyatt Russell, renewed for a second season, as well as Netflix’s Skull Island animated series.
