'Gravity Falls' Book 'The Book of Bill' Descends Upon The Hologram In July
Reality is an illusion, but the sunny day is coming
We’re meeting Bill Cipher again on some sunny July day. Sure, Disney Channel’s beloved The Owl House ended this year, but it seems Alex Hirsch, who voiced King, has taken an opportunity to return to the world of his own creation, the also much-beloved Gravity Falls, which spent season 1 premiering on the Channel and all of season 2 (bar “Scary-oke”) on Disney XD. What will be eight years in February since the series ended its television run, Hirsch has announced the franchise’s next book: The Book of Bill.
Due for release on July 23, 2024 and now up for pre-order, the overview asks if we’ve missed the little nacho demon that brought Weirdmageddon on the Oregon town. Bill will be touching upon his origin from his perspective, and the kinds of interactions he’s had across human history long before he met Stanford Pines, let alone Dipper, Mabel and Stan. And hey it seems he’s more than happy to disclose the whole family’s secrets, and even lay out the key to taking over and/or throwing the world into chaos. The Book of Bill is thoroughly cursed with baffling riddles, uncrackable ciphers, lost Journal 3 pages, ways to cheat death, the meaning of life, and a good discussion on Silly Straws.
Unlike previous books based on the acclaimed Disney Channel series that ran from 2012 to 2016 for two seasons and 41 episodes (yeah there’s a whole thing behind that), The Book of Bill is for an adult audience, truly allowing Hirsch to tap into the horror aspects of Bill as a character and in ways he couldn’t before on television. Sure he wouldn’t be dealing with Standards & Practices in the way that he did on any book, but now he can go as far as he needs to. Hirsch also voiced Bill on the show, as well as Grunkle Stan, Soos, Old Man McGucket, and many others alongside Jason Ritter, Kristen Schaal, and Linda Cardellini.
Hirsch’s own announcement on Twitter came as “Against all laws of physics, logic, and good taste, Bill Cipher has somehow managed to write a book. This can’t be good. The Book of Bill invades book stores this July! #TheBookOfBill 👁️ ⃤” with the book in glitchy showcase. He followed that up with “If Journal 3 was the angel on your shoulder, the Book of Bill is…for the other shoulder. You can pre-order now if you dare.” Promotion also brought with it the return of the “Oregon Parks Department” Twitter account with Bill-themed and featuring posts for some of that viral marketing. The Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition has a gold foil jacket and includes 16 extra pages of Bill’s morbid advice, with some autographed by Hirsch.

Wonderful news! That was a very unique program, to say the least. The book will an interesting companion piece to the earlier "Journal 3" project.
I assume the pre-order is on Amazon, right?
