The series is the third animated series to premiere this year, and stars Auli'i Cravalho
Disney Branded Television has released a trailer for the next animated series from Disney Television Animation, Hailey’s On It! They also announced the series will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, June 8 on both Disney Channel and Disney XD, with next-day releases on Disney+.
Hailey’s On It! stars Auli'i Cravalho from Moana as Hailey, described a cautious but creative teenager who sets out to complete every item on her long list of challenging and impractical tasks so she can save the world. The Good Place’s Manny Jacinto also stars as Hailey's best friend Scott, and Gary Anthony Williams voices the artificially intelligent operating system that comes from the future, named Beta, who accompanies The Professor, a high-energy scientist voiced by Sarah Chalke.
Also starring are Cooper Andrews (Billy’s foster father Victor Vasquez in the Shazam! movies) and Modern Family's Julie Bowen as Hailey's parents, Kai and Patricia. Scott’s family consists of a younger named Becker, voiced by Judy Alice Lee, and his mother, Sunny, voiced by Stargirl’s Joy Osmanski. As for the supporting cast on the school side, Nico Santos from Superstore voices classmate Jonathan, Josh Brener of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the DuckTales reboot voices Hailey's rival A.C., Nik Dodani of Atypical voices Hailey's classmate Thad, and Amanda Leighton voices Kristine, the most popular girl in school.
The guest cast is absolutely stacked, starting off with past Disney cartoon stars Jack McBrayer, who voiced Wander on Wander Over Yonder, and musician Weird Al Yankovic, who was Milo Murphy on Milo Murphy’s Law. There’s also Saturday Night Live alums Chris Parnell, who’s also Chalke’s onscreen husband on Rick and Morty, and Tim Robinson, who now stars on I Think You Should Leave. Brener’s Rise brother Brandon Mychal Smith returns to Disney Channel for the first time since So Random! ended. Brian Jordan Alvarez, Blake Anderson, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, comedian Jo Koy, Bebe Neuwirth, Natasha Rothwell, and Martin Starr will also all be guest-starring.
Hailey’s On It! is created by Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton, who also serve as executive producers. Set in Oceanside, California, Hailey is pushed outside her comfort zone to discover her own inner greatness. Whether she does it by riding every ride at the county fair, performing in a musical, reuniting a singing duo, or confronting her ever-growing and complicated feelings toward Scott, new challenges and more opportunities to conquer her fears are always coming. The music featured on Hailey's On It! includes a variety that goes from K-Pop to musical theater to pop-rock to EDM. A six-song digital soundtrack, entirely of originals, will be released on June 9, after the series’s linear premiere and coinciding with its streaming release. Emmy-nominated Matthew Tishler and Andrew Underberg are the series' songwriters and composers.
Howy Parkins, previously of The Lion Guard, is co-executive producer and supervising director. The show has two listed alums of The Owl House: Wade Wisinski is a producer and Cat Harman-Mitchell is a director with Leslie Park. Karen Graci is the story editor and Lee Ann Dufour is the art director.
Incorporation in the networks’ short-form series such as Theme Song Takeover, Broken Karaoke and Chibi Tiny Tales is expected to begin premiering in July, with apparently several ready for each. Hailey’s On It! follows Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and Kiff as the channel’s animated 2023 premieres. Check out the trailer below
