'Hamster & Gretel' Season 2 Premiere Brings First New Episodes All Year In September
You’re hearing about the improbable duo again! They’re finally back! Our long national nightmare is finally over.
So we finally got more specific news on when we’ll be getting the next season of a Dan Povenmire creation, just not the one you were expecting. Yes on the approach of Phineas & Ferb’s 17th anniversary Saturday, and as everyone wonders when the long-awaited revival will finally drop, Povenmire’s solo creation, Hamster & Gretel set a season 2 premiere date Thursday for September. It will be its first new episodes all year after the first season concluded in December. A trailer was also released, ending the long national nightmare.
Season 2 will premiere on Disney Channel on Saturday, September 14, at 10 AM EDT, with two episodes weekly. The first of the two episodes will also be made available on YouTube, presumably after the airing as has been the practice. The first eight episodes will be available on Disney+ the Wednesday after, September 18. This means linear will catch up to Disney+ after three weeks. The latter date is also Povenmire’s birthday, something he gleefully pointed to in his own Instagram post. This season will take a dramatic turn for Gretel, her superpowered hamster, and brother Kevin as they return to protect their city with their alien-granted superpowers. They will face a global extraterrestrial threat in Oblivion while juggling school, crushes, and local villains. They'll also be trying out new super suits and headquarters.

Marvel Animation was not part of the Disney Entertainment Showcase panel at D23, but frankly its own panel probably got more information out Saturday than Marvel’s segment at the former Friday night.
