It’s A Tuesday Casting For David Dastmalchian As M. Bison In 'Street Fighter'
This is one casting about to take over the world
OF COURSE! Of course it turns out Walton Goggins couldn’t take on the role of vicious dictator M. Bison for Legendary’s Street Fighter, he’s probably too busy. Instead, it’s being reported that it’s David Dastmalchian, lately of The Life of Chuck and Late Night with the Devil, taking on the role. For me, and for everyone, it was Tuesday.
Around these parts, Dastmalchian is best known for some rather high-profile Marvel and DC roles, including in both (or all three?) film universes. It started as Russian hacker and security specialist Kurt Goreshter, part of Scott Lang’s team of ex-convict friends in the Ant-Man films. He reprises the role for “What If…Zombies?!” However while they did not appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, he did take on the voice role of Veb, a gelatinous, hole-obsessed Quantum Realm creature. On The Flash, he appeared as Abra Kadabra, a 64th-century criminal who uses futuristic tech that appears magical, returning post-Crisis on Infinite Earths revealing his family erased from existence by the multiversal reboot. His next biggest role was as Abner Krill, aka Polka Dot Man in The Suicide Squad, a character that likely still exists in the current DC Universe with the Peacemaker transition. He also has credits in the direct-to-video Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham to his name.

Plot details for this Street Fighter are still unknown, but M. Launched in 1987, Street Fighter has sold more than 49 million units worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time, with well-spread sequels over the 36 years, as well as special editions and remakes. 1991’s second installment was the first to offer choices of playable characters and fighting techniques. The games often center around a global fighting tournament organized by M. Bison, the leader of the evil organization Shadaloo. The most recent game in the franchise, Street Fighter 6 was released on June 2, 2023, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
