Lana Learns Lex’s Revenge Language In New 'Superman & Lois' Season 4 Clip
In a way it’s Hotel-on-El action? The final season premieres October 7 on The CW
Thanks to the previously-covered changes in The CW’s schedule, the fourth and final season premiere for Superman & Lois is now next Monday, October 7, just less than a week away from two episodes airing to kick it all off. The trailers and clips released in the leadup have understandably been very Kent family-focused, whether it’s seeing Superman’s battle with Doomsday actually play out, or how the family he leaves behind copes with his death. However, a new clip from "The End & The Beginning" obtained by TVLine gives the perspective of Smallville’s other residents with their own dealings and the duty to protect without Superman.
In particular, Mayor Lana Lang (Emanuelle Chriqui) is going over a sales agreement because Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) has bought the Pomona Hotel through a shell corporation called Eckworth Industries. Daughter Sarah (Inde Navarrette) is in utter disbelief that she approved it. And despite its poor condition, Lex has stationed himself there to terrorize not only Lois but the whole of the Smallville Gazette. “We can’t stand by and do nothing,” Sarah stands firm. “Mom, I’m serious. John is really worried about his family. They’re not ready for Mr. Kent to be gone. We have to keep them safe.” Lana explains that if she did anything to reneg, it would put them in danger. Even as mayor, she’s basically powerless. However, at least the previously-released season description does say Lana will muster up enough of a strategy as Mayor to fight back against Luthor’s schemes, even if it does make her and her family a target. Now, forgive me, but as of writing, the video uses TVLine’s native player and is not yet public on YouTube, so it will not be embedded at the end of the article. At least it has the integrity of being a true exclusive.
Chriqui and Navarrette were two of Superman & Lois’s original series regulars, alongside Wolé Parks as John Henry Irons (the John mentioned in the clip), Tayler Buck as his daughter Natalie Irons, Dylan Walsh as Lois’s father Sam, whose capture may be part of that terrorizing Lana was talking about, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Sarah’s father and Lana’s ex-husband, and Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy Beppo, Kyle’s pregnant fiancée. Due to budget cuts, they couldn’t be brought back as series regulars, but them all managing to return makes them demoted instead of departed. It has not been revealed how much of the ten episode season Chriqui/Lang is back for exactly, but Navarrette has disclosed at least three episodes. Cudlitz however is one of the five series regulars, the only one not of the Kent family. The others are of course Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent aka Superman, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent and Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent.
When the season premieres on October 7, the second episode will be “A World Without”. The series finale is expected to air on December 2.
