MGM+, Prime Video’s Spider-Man Series 'Spider-Noir' Casts 8 In Recurring Roles
The Sony Pictures Television series starring Nicolas Cage will see the likes of Lukas Haas and Michael Kostroff pop up

It seems Prime Video and MGM+’s Spider-Noir has finished casting its main roles, because now they have filled out their recurring roles, of which there are eight. The series from Sony Pictures Television that brings at least a version of Spider-Man to the live action small screen has cast Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice and Amanda Schull, with no character details revealed for any of them.
Haas’s career goes back decades, with roles in films such as Witness, Mars Attacks!, Inception, The Revenant, First Man, and Babylon, being Emmy-nominated for playing Ryan White in The Ryan White Story. He’s actually no stranger to MGM+, having starred as Richard in season 3 of the War of the Worlds co-production of the United Kingdom and France that aired in the States when it was still Epix. Britton was a major recurrer on the Freeform series Stitchers before getting involved with Netflix as Hazel on The Umbrella Academy or as Ed Kemper in Mindhunter. He also played Richard Jewell in the second season of Manhunt, subtitled Deadly Games. His film roles include A Man Called Otto. Christopher currently stars on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, with his previous biggest role being Vudu’s Mr. Mom television adaptation from 2019 that I didn’t know existed and you probably didn’t either. Kostroff is best known to many as defense attorney Maurice Levy on HBO’s The Wire, and to others recurring as Marshall Pike on Disney Channel’s Sonny with a Chance. His other major recurring roles include Law & Order: SVU, Damages, and The Good Wife.
MacArthur is best known as Jimmy Shepherd on the Fox comedy The Mick and has himself recurred on The Righteous Gemstones as Scotty/The Devil for 8 episodes. He has also appeared in 7 episodes of Peacock’s Killing It. His film roles include El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Halloween Kills, and No Hard Feelings. Massingill has six Killing It episodes of his own under his belt as Ray-Nathan Boone, and most recently three episodes of the Starz series Hightown as Fitzy. His biggest role thus far seems to be his 12 episodes as Cody on The CW’s Hart of Dixie. Rice’s most prominent role was as Jacquiline Hilgrove, the wealthy owner of Cinnamon and Sparrow, who serves as the plaintiff on the Freevee series Jury Duty. She also recurred on Suits, though not as heavily as Schull, who did so across six seasons before being promoted to series regular for the final two. Her other recurring roles include One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars before starring as Dr. Cassandra Railly on Syfy’s 12 Monkeys. Recently she recurred as Rose Casey in the fourth season of 9-1-1: Lone Star. Now doesn’t this seem more relevant than who their representation is?
Spider-Noir stars Nicolas Cage as a Spider-Man Noir different from the one he voiced in Sony’s Spider-Verse films, even so far that it’s not a Peter Parker variant, at least as has previously been said. There is no word on whether that’s changed but it’s been a while since it was definitively said. This Noir is described as an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero. The rest of the regular cast includes Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Brendan Gleeson as the villain, and Jack Huston, Abraham Popoola and Li Jun Li, whose bodyguard, World War I veteran looking for an opportunity to get ahead and nightclub singer characters haven’t had names revealed yet either. Even who the bodyguard is assigned to isn’t explicitly clear yet.
Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are Spider-Noir’s executive producers/co-showrunners, and developers of the series with fellow executive producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller via their banner Lord Miller under their overall deal and Amy Pascal via Pascal Pictures. Harry Bradbeer will executive produce as well and direct the first two episodes. The series will premiere domestically on MGM+’s linear channel, then globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, though it’s unclear whether that counts the United States for its streaming home too.
