Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland Join Taylor Sheridan Paramount+ Series 'Land Man'
Randolph was a breakout on the service's '1923' series, and Lofland appeared in the 'Maze Runner' movies
Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland have been cast as leads in Paramount+'s upcoming series Land Man starring Billy Bob Thornton.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Land Man is set in the famous boomtowns of West Texas. It is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the oil rig business, an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so monumentally reshaping our climate, economy, and geopolitics. Thornton stars as Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for one of the highly competitive oil companies. Randolph and Lofland will play Norris's kids, the wild and strong-willed seventeen-year-old Ainsley, and the new-to-the-industry Tommy, whose age has not been deemed as important as his sister's.
Randolph comes from one of Sheridan’s other Paramount+ original series, the Yellowstone spinoff 1923, where she played her breakout role of Elizabeth Dutton nee Strafford, with only four previous credits to her name. Lofland will be seen in the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. His most recent roles include the indie 12 Mighty Orphans alongside Luke Wilson and the thriller A House on the Bayou from Blumhouse. Lofland was the lead in the second season of The Son with Pierce Brosnan, which aired on AMC. His other film credits include Aris in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Maze Runner: The Death Cure and roles in Mud, Little Accidents, and Free State of Jones.
MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions are the companies producing Land Man. Sheridan, Wallace, Thornton, David Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Dan Friedkin, and Jason Hoch all serve as executive producers, as do Scott Brown and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly, and Peter Feldman is co-executive producer.
