Pixar Plays Ball With 'Win Or Lose' Trailer At D23
Pixar is sporting a show they’ve had in the works for a while
It’s time to throw a strike while the iron’s hot. It’s still hot out of D23, right? Right? Well during the Disney Entertainment Showcase, Pixar revealed the teaser trailer for Win or Lose, the storied animation studio’s first long form animated series headed to Disney+. Originally one of the Investor Day 2020 announcements and set for release last year, the CG style-shifting Disney+-original now has set a premiere date of December 6.
It’s batter up for the Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team, in the week leading up to their championship game. Each of the eight episodes takes place that same week, highlighting the perspective of a different main character, whether it’s the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, or even the lovesick umpire, each reflected in a unique visual style. The teaser certainly does its job with that aspect, with quite a few showing up, while the front portion has Coach trying with his pep talk to motivate the team.

Win or Lose’s ready-to-play voice cast includes Will Forte as Coach Dan, while characters for Izaac Wang, Ian Chen, Jo Firestone, Milan Ray, Josh Thomson, Erin Keif and Rosie Foss still have not been announced. It is created directed and executive produced by Pixar veterans Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, who created the award-winning short The Legend of the Flying Tomato at Ringling College of Art and Design. David Lally is the producer.
