'Pokémon Horizons' Sets Part 4 Premiere Date On Netflix
The final part for the first season of Liko, Roy, and Dot's adventures with the Rising Volt Tacklers will be hitting Netflix in time for Thanksgiving
We had only just come out of the weekend of release for Pokémon Horizons: The Series part 3 on Netflix when apparently both the streamer and The Pokémon Company were ready to share the premiere date for Part 4, which, already listed to cover the final 11 episodes of will likely be the season finale for the defaultly named season, as Journeys averaged 45 episodes for Journeys and Master Journeys before Ultimate Journeys covered the rest with 54 (42 and 12 To Be A Pokémon Master). It’ll arrive on November 22, the Friday before Thanksgiving.
The official Pokémon website gives the synopsis that reads “The Rising Volt Tacklers are headed to Paldea, but there’s one problem—they’re broke! To make ends meet, Friede lands some odd jobs, including searching for a missing Bramblin and moving rocks from a research site threatened by wild Pokémon. Meanwhile, a shy Oinkologne, separated Tandemaus, and hammer-loving Tinkaton receive helping hands from Liko, Roy, Dot, and the other Rising Volt Tacklers. But when Sprigatito runs away and Dot’s mom arrives, the group has some big decisions to make. Then, Liko and Roy meet a superhero Pokémon, and the appearance of a mysterious tower tips them off to the Explorers’ biggest plan yet…”
These episodes originally ran in Japan from January to March, and not every English title of these 11 episodes has been revealed, but the practice lately is directly deriving them from the Japanese title, so even if there ends up a dropped word or so, the general idea will be very evident. The episodes that have their English titles already are “The Wild Pair, Friede and Cap!”, “Mission: Find Oinkologne's Partner!”, “Fuecoco…Becomes a Crook?!”, “The SOS is from Tandemaus?”, “Tinkatink's Ideal Hammer”, and “Farewell, Sprigatito?”, while the others will sound something like “Enter the Intense Mom!”, “Transform! The Hero of the Sea, Palafin!”, “A Letter of Challenge from the Explorers”, “A Plan to Capture Rayquaza”, and the previously discussed “To a Place Far, Far Away”. One can easily surmise which parts of the description belong to which episode, and I reiterate that it is the most action-packed Pokémon season finale since Team Rocket’s Operation Tempest came to its climax in “Meloetta and the Undersea Temple!” and “Unova’s Survival Crisis!” closing out BW Rival Destinies, truly exemplifying the weight of that “biggest plan yet”. In Japan “To a Place Far, Far Away” was the finale of the “The Sparkling Terapagos” chapter.
Unfortunately, all 144 Journeys episodes are set to leave Netflix on the one-year mark that To Be A Pokémon Master was added, September 8. However, this might mean that it can find its way to other streaming services like Prime Video and Hulu/Disney+, and possibly biggest of all be incorporated into the pool of playable episodes for the franchise Twitch channel’s anime streams on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That would definitely make for a silver lining. The movies on the other hand seem to have a firmer grasp, including The Arceus Chronicles, which would make it the last remnants of Journeys on the service.
The English dub cast features Alejandra Reynoso as Liko, Anjali Kunapaneni as Roy, and Faye Mata as Dot, forming quite the trio over the course of the series thus far. Daman Mills voices Dot’s Quaxly and Explorers admin Amethio, Kira Buckland takes on Liko’s Sprigatito, and Zeno Robinson voices Roy’s Fuecoco. Friede is voiced by Crispin Freeman, and of course Captain Pikachu is voiced by Ikue Ohtani. The cast also features Erica Mendez as Mollie, Mara Junot as Orla, Larry Kenney as Ludlow, Major Attaway as Murdock, and Xanthe Huynh as Liko’s Indigo Academy roommate and friend Ann. Like last time, a clip has been provided, this from “Tinkatink’s Ideal Hammer”, which can be watched below.
