‘RiffTrax Live: TimeCop' Kickstarter Hits Funding Goal, Lays Out Stretch Goal Bonus Shorts
Go spread the word! We’re going to need a lot more backers than last year to reach the last stretch goal!
Damme, they’re grateful. Shortlya fter hitting their $350,000 Kickstarter funding goal Wednesday afternoon for their next live show, featuring a riff of the sci-fi thriller TimeCop, the guys at RiffTrax sent out their first update to backers, expressing how grateful they were that they’ll be able to do the show this year, and being assured so quickly. Even with the ongoing sabotage of America’s economy, they appreciate the support and activated a coupon code for backers, but weren’t ready to share stretch goals. That changed with Monday’s update, and it’s going to take more backers to hit them. With 28 days to go, a full week of funding gone by, $393,855 has been attained from 3,476 backers, making for 112% funded.
Like last time, the first major stretch goal introduced is a collection of ten bonus shorts at intervals of 500 backers. As the guys say “This year’s lineup covers everything from bike safety and workplace boredom to the mysteries of motherhood. You’ll laugh, you'll learn, and you might even question reality.” At 3500 backers, “What Mary Jo Wanted” will be unlocked. At 4000, we get “Little Red Riding Hood”, while at 4500 “Speak Up Andrew” joins the party. 5000 backers brings “The Big Yellow Fellow, while hitting 5500 backers enlists “Bicycle Safety Camp”, and 6000 backers will have us “Appreciating Our Parents” until 6500 backers deploys “Beginning Responsibility: Learning to Follow Instructions”. 7000 backers allows confrontation of “Boredom at Work”, while 7500 comes to the realizations of “My Mother Was Never A Kid”, and finally 8000 backers becomes “The Munchers”.
RiffTrax Apprehends Van Damme Classic 'TimeCop' For New Live Show With Kickstarter Launch
It’s that time of year again, and RiffTrax is ready to surf all the way to the crime-riddled streets of the future. The movie riffing troupe composed of Mystery Science Theater 3000 alumni Michael J. Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy has launched their annual Kickstarter to fund their live show, their 12th campaign. This year, 1994’s
How are they making this happen? By officially opening the $1 “Just Spreading the Laughs” reward tier that makes for an easy and cheap way to draw backers to hop aboard. The timing is the same This allows them to receive all stretch rewards that will be available to all backers as they’re unlocked during the campaign. Last year’s stretch goal release point was through 5 days and 30 to go funded 110% of the goal at $388,716 from 3,657 backers. The backer intervals there were every 250. 3500 backers unlocked “Wonderful World of Tupperware”, 3750 got “Jack and the Beanstalk”, 4000 got “Six Murderous Beliefs”, 4250 got “People Soup”, 4500 got “The Kids Guide to the Internet”, 4750 got “Truck Song”, 5000 got “The Boy Who Didn’t Listen”, 5250 got “Arranging the Buffet Supper”, 5500 got “Farm Animals”, and 5750 got the live version of “Play Safe”. All were achieved. But with needing 2250 more than previous to collect all 10 and more than double the current backer count, it’s going to be extra important to spread the word.
Once the campaign ends and surveys go out, a link to the Rewards Page where backers can claim the earned bonus shorts will be sent, probably within a couple of weeks of said end.
The CW 'Powerpuff' Pilot Leaked, Got Plugged
Over 26 years later and the Powerpuff Girls seem to still be having big days, and Thursday was definitely that. First, their part in the Jellystone! “Crisis on Infinite Mirths” crossover made Mojo Jojo (voiced once again by Roger L. Jackson) a main character and half of maybe the greatest crossover crackship in all of cartoons while also getting fully v…
