'Scream 7' Adds 'Madame Web' Star Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann Of 'Gen V'
The overhauled horror sequel is set to release in theaters in February 2026
Scream 7 is continuing to cast, and it’s looking more like without the Carpenters, we’re not getting any of their friend group either. Take the latest casting of Celeste O’Connor and Asa Germann, whose characters have not been revealed. Plot details haven’t been shared either, probably because even cracking these character details would probably shape something about the plot that they’re not ready to say yet.
O’Connor is probably best known as Lucky Domingo, a friend of Trevor (Finn Wolfhard)’s and Sheriff Sherman Domingo's daughter in the recent Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire. They’re also less favorably known for playing Mattie Franklin, who in the Marvel comics is the third Spider-Woman, in this year’s Madame Web from Sony. Her other roles include the Zach Braff-directed drama A Good Person, body swap slasher Freaky, and Selah and the Spades. They are in the midst of shooting UAP, a sci-fi thriller.
Germann has only started acting more recently, with a couple of short films to his name, and a minor role in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story before being cast as Sam Riordan, the initially schizophrenic PTSD-riddled Supe now unable to feel emotion in the The Boys spinoff Gen V. He would reprise the role in a couple of the mothership’s season four episodes. Sam forms a bond with Emma (Lizze Broadway), a fellow student at supe college Godolkin University, and wrestles with his seeking of revenge against his wrongdoers. Germann is also indeed the son of actor Greg Germann, known for Ally McBeal, Grey’s Anatomy, and Once Upon a Time.
The pair join original franchise star Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, returning after holding out of the sixth film, and Isabel May as her freshly-introduced daughter. Kevin Williamson, who of the original four Wes Craven-directed films only missed out on writing the third, is back to direct, but is not writing this film. Guy Busick, who wrote Scream and Scream VI with James Vanderbilt is going solo this time while Vanderbilt is busy directing the feature Nuremberg. Filming is set to begin some time this month in Atlanta after being postponed a few months due to Campbell and Williamson’s schedules. Vanderbilt, representing Project X Entertainment with William Sherak and Paul Neinstein are producing with Radio Silence, the directors of this decade’s first two installments, serving as executive producers. Scream 7 is currently set for release on February 27, 2026.
