Showtime Releases A Teaser For Upcoming Miniseries 'Fellow Travelers'
Showtime has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming miniseries Fellow Travelers, starring Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey. It features quick-cut glimpses of the decades-spanning romance between the earnest and bright-eyed Tim Laughlin, played by Bailey, and Bomer’s charismatic and intimacy-hesitant Hawkins “Hawk” Fuller,
Fellow Travelers is described as a love story and political thriller based on Thomas Mallon’s novel, adapted by Homeland and Ray Donovan alum Ron Nyswaner. It follows the relationship between Bailey’s earnest, idealistic and optimistic religious man Tim Laughlin and Bomer’s charismatic avoider of emotional entanglements Hawkins “Hawk” Fuller, whose behind-the scenes career in politics brings great wealth and stability. Their romance begins just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn begin their anti-LGBTQ crusade. Hawk, Tim, Marcus (played by Jelani Alladin), Lucy (Allison Williams), and Frankie (Noah J. Ricketts) cross paths in the ensuing 35 years, through the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the drug-fueled sexual revolution of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, while still facing other issues in the world.
Allison Williams's credits include Get Out, Girls, and M3GAN while Jelani Alladin has appeared in Tick... Tick... Boom! and The Walking Dead: World Beyond and Noah J. Ricketts has appeared in American Gods. Bomer and Nyswaner also serve as executive producers with Robbie Rogers of All American and My Policeman and Dee Johnson. Daniel Minahan, who has worked on Ryan Murphy productions like Halston and American Crime Story: Versace executive produces while directing the first two episodes. Fellow Travelers is co-produced by Fremantle and Showtime. A date reveal teaser has been released, and can be watched below.
