'Star Wars: Skeleton Crew' Premiere Moves To Monday
Oh to be so last minute. Your Tuesdays will go on as scheduled, except for next week
It’s official: Every weekday has had at least one primetime premiere on Disney+. And maybe every day except Sunday. The streamer and Lucasfilm are catering to its very eager fans, claiming adventure waits for no one as they move up the two-episode premiere of the latest series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew by one day to Monday, December 2 at 9 PM Eastern, 6 PM Pacific.
Note that’s just the premiere, as the rest of the season will remain on Tuesdays in the same timeslot, but that will start the following week, December 10, as to keep things as spread as can be and not burn three episodes in a single week. Ahsoka and The Acolyte also premiered in the same Tuesday timeslot, with the former being the trailblazer for all the prestige Disney+ series getting primetime slots. Percy Jackson and the Olympians got Tuesdays too, while Agatha All Along did Wednesdays, Loki season 2 did Thursdays and Doctor Who did Fridays.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew features Jod (Jude Law), Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter), Neel (Robert Timothy Smith), and SM-33 (Nick Frost) on a “rollicking journey among the stars” following a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet. Finding their way home, and meeting unlikely allies and enemies, will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined. It is created by director Jon Watts, who directed the first three Spider-Man films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and writer Christopher Ford, who also serve as the showrunners.
The franchise socials released its schedule and each episode’s directors, with the eighth and final episode airing January 14. Watts directs the premiere and finale, David Lowery directs episodes 2 and 3, the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) did episode four, while Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung did the fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively. Ford and Watts wrote all but two episodes that were written by Myung Joh Wesner. Ford and Watts executive produce with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson, along with co-executive producers Chris Buongiorno, Karen Gilchrist, Carrie Beck and producers Susan McNamara and John Bartnicki. A new teaser was released to alert the new premiere date.
