'Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures' Sets Season 3 For Fall Premiere
Of Force it’s coming back. Would they have gone silent if *this* series really wasn’t returning?
Oh Japan, Tokyo specifically, your time zones of great inconvenience shine through this weekend as you host Star Wars Celebration. In the late Eastern Time hours, with someone dressed in full Nubs costume, it was announced that the preschool-aimed animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures would not only be returning to Disney+ and Disney Jr. for a third season, but it would be a third season premiering this fall.
As the announcement trailer tells, Kai, Lys, Nash and Nubs traveled the galaxy, trained in the ways of the Force under Yoda, and fended off pirates on behalf of Prince Cyrus. Now season 3 promises more action and more adventure while introducing Beepers, Dozer, and Gigi, a quirky band of droids, each with their own unique and hilarious personalities, who join the heroes on missions, as well as Dotti from “Dotti’s Droid Depot”, and eccentric droid builder and tinkerer Rek Minuu. It’s unclear how much helping citizens and creatures in need across the galaxy we’ll be seeing, but it’s probably going to at least be some part of it.
Ryan Gosling-Shawn Levy 'Star Wars' Movie Sets Title, 2027 Release Date To Kick Off Celebration Japan
Boy does this take me back. Star Wars Celebration, the biannual fan convention for the nearly 50-year-old sci-fi franchise kicked off tonight, because it’s tomorrow in Tokyo, Japan. Its first major panel is for next year’s film The Mandalorian and Grogu
A fall premiere actually falls quite in line with what we’ve seen of the turnaround so far. Season one’s final Disney+ drop happened in February 2024 while season two premiered that August, just six months later. Season two’s finishing Disney+ drop didn’t happen until this past March, so an equivalent offset would put season 3 as premiering in September, meeting that fall window.
Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures stars the main quartet of JeCobi Swain as Kai Brightstar, Juliet Donenfeld as Lys Solay, Dee Bradley Baker as Nubs, and Emma Berman as Nash Durango, alongside Trey Murphy as Taborr/Cyrus Vuundir, Nasim Pedrad as Master Zia Zanna, Piotr Michael as Master Yoda, and Gunnar Sizemore as Vinik. While Yoda will definitely be around, it’s unclear how much we’ll see of last season’s other allies. The series is produced by Lucasfilm in collaboration with Wild Canary, also executive produced by the company’s James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, and Josh Rimes. Elliot M. Bour is supervising director and co-executive producer; and Lamont Magee is consulting producer.
Two other Star Wars series’s third installments are set for release this year as well, being the next volume of Visions, which has no announced premiere date, as well as a third Tales, this one Tales of the Underworld, releases on May 4, both also for Disney+.
'Star Wars: Visions' Returning For Third Volume
Disney and Lucasfilm have affirmed their greater vision for Star Wars: Visions. The animated anthology series will be back for a third volume. Despite the long silence following the Star Wars Day release of the second volume last year, it’ll be far sooner to see the next, as a 2025 premiere has been promised on Disney+ as usual. It was announced shortly…
