The CW Moves 'Superman & Lois' Final Season To Mondays
Yes, 'Wranglers' is moving too. It’s a wholesale swap of Monday and Thursday night
Game night is moving to Thursdays, and Superman & Lois is heading back to where this iteration of the Man of Steel began. The CW is swapping its Monday game night of Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit with its Thursday night programming, the final season of Superman & Lois and its recently-installed docuseries Wranglers in its second tinkering of its fall schedule in three weeks.
Indeed, this is something of a homecoming for The CW’s final DC Comics-based series, as Tyler Hoechlin made his debut as Superman in the Supergirl season 2 premiere "The Adventures of Supergirl", the first episode to premiere on the network after beginning on CBS. In the years that followed, Supergirl would stake Sundays when The CW expanded there before ending on a Tuesday slot it shared with what was then its spinoff when it debuted in 2021. Superman & Lois will still have its full night season premiere event and then be joined by Wranglers the week after, but instead of October 17 and 24 respectively, it will now be October 7 and 14. Likewise, the game shows, hosted by Raven-Symoné and LeVar Burton respectively, have moved to the previous week as well, now premiering October 3.
The Librarians: The Final Chapter originally had the post-Superman & Lois slot before being abruptly pulled and replaced with Wranglers, being the previous tinkering in question. However the limbo was resolved quickly, returning to the franchise’s original home of TNT with a two-season pickup. It will premiere in 2025. As for the motive behind the switch, ABC has its own game show block, consisting of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Press Your Luck, in the very same Monday hours, so this avoided direct competition of more veteran game shows squashing the newly-premiering.
With this move, the series finale of Superman & Lois seems expected to air on The CW on Monday, December 2 if there are no breaks between episodes. Wranglers should mercifully be wrapping up on the same night.
