The English Dub Cast Of 'Suicide Squad Isekai' Announced Themselves
The anime had been initially released solely in Japanese to Hulu and Max last week
Suicide Squad Isekai premiered with three episodes on Hulu and Max on Thursday, June 27. However, it seems that it took until week two for the English dub to join the original Japanese version on Hulu and subsequently spread to Hulu's presence on Disney+, because the cast started announcing itself following the release of episode 4 with no formal press release about it. Figured no one else really had the jump, so might as well take it.
Harley Quinn is voiced by Karlii Hoch, whose previous most recognizable credit with a major role (to Americans) is probably Food Wars! where she voiced Noa Sadatsuka. She has dozens of other anime episodes to her name, including Utawarerumono: The False Faces, as Pride Royal Ivy in The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior, Shary in The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy, Eiko Hozuki in Dark Gathering, and Hazella in Ragna Crimson. She tweeted “Honored beyond words to play Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad Isekai. If you had told kid me that I would voice Harley, I’d have thought you a liar. I was obsessed with Harley for years; Now I get to BE her. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the love I’ve poured into this.” Scott Gibbs voices the Joker, and he appeared in 35 episodes of Food Wars! as Satoshi Isshiki and 61 of Haikyuu!! as Tobio Kageyama. He hasn’t tweeted since March but someone else’s tweet congratulating him and Hoch is cited on Wikipedia.
Jeremy Gee is the voice of Rick Flag(g) and he excitedly tweeted out his excitement “I’M PART OF THE DC UNIVERSE?! excited to announce that I play Rick Flag in Suicide Squad Isekai. This show is so good and everyone worked super hard to make it what it is, thanks to @KyleColby and @shannondreed for everything!” He previously starred as Roy in Shikizakura and Gozro in Getter Robo Ark and voiced various named characters in 30 episodes of Haikyu!! Seán Patrick Judge can taste the work as he’s voicing Peacemaker, and he tweeted “Well it looks like the cat is out of the bag! So INCREDIBLY honored to have been given the blessing of voicing such an iconic character as Peacemaker in #suicidesquadisekai ! THANK YOU SO MUCH to @DCOfficial and @wb_anime for this tremendous opportunity!” His IMDb lists the podcast Vampire: The Masquerade Port Saga as his only prior credit.
Cyrus Rodas voices Hank the Green Orc and tweeted this as his announcement “✨️ANNOUNCEMENT TIME✨️IT'S OUT NOW!! You can hear me in Suicide Squad Isekai as the mean, and green Orc, Hank!! And y'all are in for a treat! A huge thank you to Kyle Colby Jones for having me, as well as Shannon Reed and the folks at Sentai Filmworks!!” He and Andrew Love, the voice of Nanaue aka King Shark who wrote “Me play King Shark! You ENJOY!”, have credits on another isekai, My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World!. Yes that’s the full title. Luci Christian, famed voice of Nami on One Piece and Ochaco Uraraka on My Hero Academia is Princess Fione here, and she says “Woohoo! #PrincessFione reporting for duty! Thanks for having me, KyleColby”. Patricia Duran said she “had a BLAST” as Aldora and encouraged viewers to tell her what they thought of the series. And finally since any socials for Jovan Jackson, who voices Deadshot, haven’t been found, there’s Jasmine Renee Thomas. She plays Amanda Waller and tweeted How exciting! I am loving every second of this series so far! Thank you for welcoming me to the team and Jeremy Gee for putting pieces together! What joy!!!!”
As a treat, here’s that Supervillains’ Party trailer that was shared at Anime Expo. Knew this would be a substantial enough story. Suicide Squad Isekai will continue to roll out new episodes until season 1 finishes on August 15.
