'The Really Loud House' Ending On Nickelodeon After 2 Seasons With Thanksgiving Episode
Thanksgiving brings stuffing, sure, but this is an extraction
The journey that brought beloved Nicktoon The Loud House into live action began with Christmas in 2021 with the movie A Loud House Christmas, which premiered same-day on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. The success there led to the greenlight of the spinoff series The Really Loud House, which premiered on Nickelodeon in November 2022. Now it’s been confirmed by Lincoln Loud actor Wolfgang Schaeffer that the series is coming to an end after two seasons and 39 episodes with Tuesday, November 26’s Thanksgiving episode.
On his Instagram, Schaeffer wrote “I love Thanksgiving. It seems only fair that the final episode of The Really Loud House will air on Tuesday and celebrate this great family holiday. Watch with your family and thank you all for all the support on this amazing journey.” Dora Dolphin, who played second-oldest sister Leni Loud solely in A Loud House Christmas, commented “So incredibly proud of you Wolfie! I love you guys!” On the series, Eva Carlton played Leni. The finale is titled “A Really Loud Thanksgiving: The Gobble Squabble Debacle”, and in it, Lola has been crowned "Little Miss Giblets" by The National Giblet Distribution Company on Thanksgiving Day. When she discovers the ceremony is a sham, she and the Louds steal the turkey to set it free.
There were hints that the series’s end was approaching first noticed in October, when Jolie Jenkins, who plays mother Rita Loud, shared some behind-the-scenes photos on her own Instagram. That post was captioned "We are reaching the end, friends. Only two more new episodes left of nicktheloudhouse… P.S. I miss my Loud House Fam so much 🥹🫶🏻". Brian Thomas Smith, who played Mr. Bolhofner on the series, commented saying "Such a fun and outrageous show that ended way way way too soon."
The series’s general premise is that 12-year-old Lincoln goes on adventures in Royal Woods with his best friend Clyde McBride, played by Jahzir Bruno, while also navigating the chaos of living in a family with ten sisters. Season two premiered on February 19, 2024, with an hourlong musical special titled “A Musical to Remember”. It's probably the culprit for why Wikipedia lists 39 episodes and not 40. The Really Loud House also stars Brian Stepanek as Lynn Loud Sr., Sophia Woodward as Luna Loud, Catherine Ashmore Bradley as Luan Loud, Annaka Fourneret as Lynn Loud, Aubin Bradley as Lucy Loud, Ella Allan as Lola Loud, Mia Allan as Lana Loud, Lexi Janicek as Lisa Loud, Lexi DiBenedetto as Lori Loud, and August Michael Peterson as Lily Loud.
It’s not the first Nickelodeon series to end with a Thanksgiving episode, as Rocko’s Modern Life comes to mind, but the ends of Danger Force and That Girl Lay Lay this year means Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan will be the only active live-action scripted series left on the network. The upcoming The Thundermans follow-up series is the only live-action scripted series announced to be in the pipeline. Disney Channel is in rather similar circumstances, having just premiered Wizards Beyond Waverly Place after a period of complete depletion in the live-action scripted series realm. It was days later they announced two shows premiering next year.
