'Tron: Ares' Trailer Released Following CinemaCon Program Cycle Completion
'Morbius' star Jared Leto had quite a presence at the Las Vegas-set convention
Who else but Disney would close out CinemaCon this week in Las Vegas, as the last major panel Thursday. They had quite a bit, including a portion for Tron: Ares, with original and returning star Jeff Bridges coming out with new star Jared Leto, the titular Ares in the film releasing October 10. It finally brings the franchise back to the big screen 15 years after Tron: Legacy just a little over half as long as it took to release the sequel to the 1982 original film.

The minute-and-a-half-long trailer sees two Programs on Light Cycles ride through the streets of a real-world metropolis, leaving their signature light trails that slice through a police car in their pursuit. The world of the video game appears to be converging with our own. “Ready?” says Bridges’ Kevin Flynn. “Because there’s no going back.” Directed by Joachim Rønning, Evan Peters plays the villain Julian Dillinger, and is among the characters seen, as are Greta Lee and Gillian Anderson’s characters, as part of a cast that also features Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Hasan Minhaj, and Sarah Desjardins.
Leto produces with Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Emma Ludbrook and Steven Lisberger, while Russell Allen serves as executive producer. Watch the trailer below.
