'Venom: The Last Dance' Final Trailer Exposes Full Knull-edge
The final film in the trilogy will be released in theaters on October 25
Sony has released the final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, the touted finale of their trilogy surrounding the normally-Spider-Man-related antihero from Marvel Comics.
The trailer opens on a plane over the Grand Canyon as Venom faces off against a symbiont creature as others fall to earth like meteors. Scientists studying Eddie and Venom, including one played by Juno Temple, begin to conclude that they were escaping, running away. Apparently storming out, Eddie learns the intimidating figure is Knull, and it’s Venom it’s in pursuit of. The Vegas scenes come in again, and the pair look back on everything they’ve been through together, as they’re warned that the world will be destroyed if they stay together, and there comes a time when sacrifice is necessary. Indeed, Knull, described as an “eldritch god of darkness” and atop a throne, with taloned fingers and long white hair, is the creator of the symbiotes. The Venom horse form is also seen again.
As the synopsis puts it, "Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance." Set for release on October 25, Venom: The Last Dance also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Clark Backo, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu returning as Mrs. Chen, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham, the latter four castings previously unrevealed. The film is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story she and Hardy concocted. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Marcel, Hardy and Hutch Parker.
