Warner Bros. Sets Locksmith’s 'The Lunar Chronicles' For November 2028

We now know what Locksmith Animation’s next film with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation after they unleash the magic of Bad Fairies. Straight out of Annecy, The Lunar Chronicles, based on Marissa Meyer’s No. 1 bestselling book series, has been given a November 3, 2028 release date.
This marks the third film dated for 2028, following Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, scheduled for March 17, and Dynamic Duo, scheduled for June 30. It makes seven films in total starting from 2026, making up for lost time following the Discovery regime takeover that brought the reformatting from Warner Animation Group, having not released a film since 2022’s DC League of Super-Pets. Noëlle Raffaele, a story artist on The Lego Ninjago Movie and The Marvels and director of 18 episodes of DC Superhero Girls is directing the tale which blends sci-fi with fairytales.

In announcing this film, Warner Bros. also confirmed Margie Claus, starring Melissa McCarthy and in development since 2017, has been set for a November 2027 release, meaning it survived all the WBD regime scrappings.
