With No More Secrets, 'Gremlins' Series Goes Wild For Season 2
Max celebrates the franchise’s 40th anniversary by revealing the premiere window for the second season of the animated series
Here’s an after-midnight treat. Max’s Gremlins animated prequel series, subtitled Secrets of the Mogwai in season 1, has taken on a new subtitle. When season 2 premieres this fall, the it will bear the name Gremlins: The Wild Batch.
The new season will chronicle Gizmo, Sam, and Elle traveling from their home in Shanghai to San Francisco, bringing even more magic, mystery and Mogwai mayhem. In pursuit of a new pack of evil Mogwai deep into the American West they will face new supernatural creatures and make new allies with their own layers of mystery along the way.
The series regulars that are returning include Izaac Wang as Sam Wing, Ming-Na Wen as mom Fong Wing, BD Wong as dad Hon Wing, James Hong as Grandpa Wing, AJ LoCascio as Gizmo and several other Mogwai including Bucky, Clam, and Snout Jr., and Gabrielle Nevaeh Green as Elle. Guest cast announcement is coming in the leadup to premiere. Season 1 served as a relaunch title for the newly-rebranded Max, and with its ten episodes released two weekly until June 22, running identically to the revived Clone High, whose second season was dropped all at once in February. Gremlins: The Wild Batch is produced by Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros. Animation. Steven Spielberg serves as executive producer, along with Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, who are the Presidents of Amblin Television, and Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios President Sam Register, President. Tze Chun serves as showrunner and executive producer. Brendan Hay, previously of Harvey Girls Forever! serves as executive producer with Dan Krall serving as Supervising Producer. Joe Dante, director of both original films serves as consulting producer.
