The Official Trailer For 'Ahsoka' Gives First Look At Live Action Ezra And Thrawn
The latest 'Star Wars' Disney+ series premieres with two episodes on August 23
War is inevitable. Former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano is on a mission or two in the latest Star Wars series Ahsoka, and she’s got to bring along some old friends.
Lucasfilm released the official trailer for the series, which stars Rosario Dawson as Tahno, who debuted in the role in The Mandalorian. She is hunting for Grand Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen, reprising his role from Star Wars Rebels, hoping it will lead her to Ezra Bridger, who disappeared with him at the end of that series. Both are making their live action debuts, with Bridger being played by Eman Esfandi. Baylan Skoll, played by the late Ray Stevenson, seems to be going around killing in search of power. Hera Syndulla, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, laments spending so much of her life fighting the Empire, and is desperately pleading for assistance from the New Republic council. Meeting up with Ahsoka, they reunite with Sabine Wren, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, She realizes that she left her behind just like she did Anakin, leaving her training incomplete. A message from Ezra emphasizes their mission as they go off to find him and stop Thrawn, whose face is revealed for the first time in marketing. Once a Rang—Rebel, always a rebel.
The character of Ahsoka Tano was originated by Ashley Eckstein, voicing her in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Anakin Skywalker’s padawan before she broke away from the Jedi Order. They would reunite after his turn to Darth Vader in the next series Star Wars Rebels. The Clone Wars and Rebels were both created by Dave Filoni, who has shepherded the era of live action Star Wars series that began with The Mandalorian. He writes all episodes of this series directs multiple, while the other directors are Rick Famuyiwa, Peter Ramsey, Steph Green, Jennifer Getzinger, and Geeta Patel. Hayden Christensen is set to return to Anakin/Vader again, having done so for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The cast also includes Ivanna Sakhno as Skoll’s apprentice Shin Hahti, and David Tennant reprising his voice role as Huyang, as well as Wes Chatham and Diane Lee Inosanto.
Tano is a member of the Togruta species, who are known for their large montrals, head tails, and vibrant skin tones. The Ahsoka series is set to premiere with two episodes on August 23 on Disney+. The trailer can be watched below.
