'Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League' Reveals More Cast With Newly-Released Clip
The film will also be part of a New York Comic-Con panel with the long-awaited 'Batman Azteca' Movie
The ninja who battled feudal Japan has returned once again to a world like any other, and there is no justice. Warner Bros. Japan has released a character clip for their upcoming Batman Ninja sequel Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, which reveals who else is in the cast, and it’s got plenty of Robins out here.
It’s a 50-second clip with the previous 30-second teaser attached. Of course, it starts reinforcing Koichi Yamadera as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, while his current Robin is voiced by Yuuki Kaji, who voiced Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan. Red Robin, who is usually Jason Todd when he’s used for adaptation, is also here, voiced by Kengo Kawanishi, best known as Soshiro Hoshina from Kaiju No. 8. The original bearer of the identity is Dick Grayson, who when not Robin in an adaptation is pretty much always so far Nightwing, and he’s voiced by Daisuke Ono, Sebastian Michaelis on Black Butler. We also have Red Hood, who is also a Jason Todd identity so it probably explains why Bruce is the only civilian name used. Whoever Red Hood is under there, he’s voiced by Akira Ishida, who voiced Nagisa in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Of course, Bruce’s butler Alfred Pennyworth is here, voiced by Hochu Otsuka, who was Jiraiya in Naruto and Commissioner Gordon voiced by Masaki Terasoma, Kiroranke in Golden Kamuy.
Animation is being done at Kamikaze Douga with its CEO and founder Junpei Misuzaki returning to direct alongside Shinji Takagi. Returning staff includes screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki, and composer Yūgo Kanno. Misuzaki, Takagi, and Nakashima will be panel guests at New York Comic-Con on October 17 at 3 PM Eastern for “Bats in Translation: Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League and Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios”, the latter known as Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires in English, which was announced in 2022 and will have some of its creatives on the panel as well. They will discuss the process of crafting original Batman stories through the lens of each region’s unique stories, mythologies, and culture. The first 10 minutes of Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League will be shown, so expect equal time for Batman Azteca. Its plot reads “The father of Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec boy, is murdered by Spanish conquistadors. Following this, he then warns King Moctezuma of danger, and works with those in the temple of Tzinacan to develop weaponry, and equipment, to face the Spanish invaders.” Watch the former’s character clip below.
