Get ready to go bananas. It was only 5 months ago that the Dora the Explorer reboot Dora premiered on Paramount+ with its entire first season, after which it was quickly announced that the series had been renewed for season 2. Now the streamer has announced that they will premiere the second season on Friday, September 13 in the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, making one wonder how true the nature of it being a “season 2” is and whether it was truly renewed or if it was already ordered with it.
Season 2 is another batch of 26 11-minute episodes will see Dora, voiced once again by Diana Zermeño and her best friend Boots (Asher Colton Spence) encounter new challenges, overcome tricky obstacles, and explore new fantastical territories. The Latina heroine’s journey has her meeting new friends and helping others, learning inspiring lessons through catchy songs and eternally raucous and deafening laughter. The returning cast includes Anairis Quiñones as Map and The Fiesta Trio’s Armadillo; Marc Weiner as Swiper; Mike Smith Rivera as Papi; Kathleen Herles, the original voice of Dora, as Mami, Maria Canals-Barrera as Abuela; Danny Burstein as Grumpy Old Troll and The Fiesta Trio’s Frog and Marmoset; Katarina Sky as Backpack; Donovan Monzon-Sanders as Tico; Tandi Fomukong as Isa; Quintún Muñoz as Benny; and Chris Gifford as Big Red Chicken. Taboo will be back as Quickatoo and Kate del Castillo as Ale the Alebrije is too.
