Disney Jr. Unveils 'Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures' Season 2 Trailer Before August 14 Premiere
Six shorts premiered on Friday, August 2 in the run-up
The younglings are ready to young all over the galaxy again. Disney has released key art and a trailer for the second season of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, it’s entire first half debuting on Disney+ and Disney Jr. (with weekly linear premieres) on Wednesday, August 14. That will carry it to the end of 2024, as the second half will arrive in early 2025.
“We’re thrilled to invite fans of Kai, Lys, Nubs and Nash back to the galaxy far, far away with Season 2 of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures,” describes showrunner and executive producer Michael Olson, who teases “thrilling challenges” as they welcome spirited Padawan Wes Vinik (voiced by Gunnar Sizemore) and a new class of younglings to Tenoo, and reunite with friends from across the galaxy. The “heartfelt and action-packed” season promises “important lessons about friendship, compassion, and overcoming fears” all on a “thrilling ride”. The official synopsis describes that they continue their training and growth in the ways of the Force, embarking on even bigger missions across the galaxy. Wes Vinik’s Master Zia and astromech RO-M1 are here to help. They’ll meet up with old friends too, like Bell Zettifar and his fiery pal Ember while encountering adversaries like The Ganguls, who are growing in their pirate ranks.
Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures stars the main quartet of JeCobi Swain as Kai Brightstar, Juliet Donenfeld as Lys Solay, Dee Bradley Baker as Nubs, and Emma Berman as Nash Durango, alongside Trey Murphy as Taborr/Cyrus Vuundir, Nasim Pedrad as Master Zia Zanna, Piotr Michael as Master Yoda, and the previously mentioned Sizemore as Vinik. The series is produced by Lucasfilm in collaboration with Wild Canary, also executive produced by the company’s James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, and Josh Rimes. Elliot M. Bour is supervising director and co-executive producer; and Lamont Magee is consulting producer.
A new season of six shorts was released Friday on Disney+ as leadup, and they’re called “Firehawk Rescue”, “Skyring Soaring”, “A Droid’s Mission”, “Younglings in the Wild”, “Junkyard Joust”, and “Nubs-tacle Course”. And yeah, it’s Disney Jr. now, the rebrand occurring while I failed to cover the leadup to the premiere of Ariel.
