Disney Channel Releases Season 2 Trailer For Marvel’s 'Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur'
Moon Girl magic is on its way back, but for Lunella the balance might not be so magical
After a dominant five-win performance at the Children’s and Family Emmys, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has its full season 2 trailer released, just about 4 weeks ahead of its premiere on Disney Channel.
In season 2, 13-year-old super-genius Moon Girl aka Lunella Lafayette, voiced by Diamond White and her 10-ton tyrannosaurus Devil Dinosaur, voiced by Fred Tatasciore are very much settled into their superheroing, continuing to protect her Lower East Side community from super threats, but it’s starting to have compatibility issues with her personal life, and thus the quandaries over secret identities will hit her for the first time. The traumas she’s gone through since her victories are starting to show, and her in-the-know grandmother Mimi, voiced by Alfre Woodard can see it mighty clear. The trailer also showcases some of her new rogues showing up, like Lady Bullseye, Kid Kree, and the very Sonic Adventure-posing Brian Glory. A little creature voiced by David Tennant is one of many with a bone to pick with Moon Girl. There’s even a glimpse of quite the intimidating confrontation with Molecule Man, voiced by Edward James Olmos. While urged to reveal her identity, at least presumably to her family, which at least partially is enchanted by Moon Girl Lunella is having quite the time, showing off her Gotcha Glove. Hanging out with friends, facing off against giant scorpions, it’s all here.
In addition to the rest of the main cast that includes Sasheer Zamata as Lunella’s mother, Adria; Jermaine Fowler as her father, James Jr., Libe Barer as her manager best friend, Casey, and Gary Anthony Williams as her grandfather, Pops, the season’s guest cast has Jonathan Banks, SungWon Cho (better known as ProZD on YouTube), Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, Andy Garcia, Arsenio Hall, Ann Harada, Jackée Harry, Manny Jacinto, Carol Kane, Blue Beetle’s Xolo Maridueña (seeming to be the likeliest candidate for Bruno Glory), Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’s Alex Newell, Lost in Space’s Parker Posey, Ephraim Sykes, Robin Thede, and Peter Weller.
Season 2 of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur premieres February 2 at 8 PM on Disney Channel and Disney XD, with a first batch of season 2’s episodes going up next day on Disney+. The series is executive produced by Laurence Fishburne (whose recurring Beyonder is unseen in the trailer) and Helen Sugland’s Cinema Gypsy Productions and Steve Loter, known for Kim Possible and American Dragon Jake Long. Rodney Clouden and Pilar Flynn co-executive produce this season; Kate Kondell is also co-executive producer and story editor; Halima Lucas is co-producer and story editor; Ben Juwono is co-producer and supervising director.
