Marvel Studios Vision Series Casts Ruaridh Mollica, Adds Directors
The cast is growing for the series premiering on Disney+ in 2026
It’s not often you see yourself going from parody to parody target, but that’s exactly what is going on here. Ruaridh Mollica, who became familiarized to American audiences with his recurring role on the superhero movie-spoofing HBO series The Franchise, is now joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe by coming aboard Marvel Studios’s Vision series once known as Vision Quest, premiering on Disney+ in 2026.
Mollica will play a character named Tucker, and that’s all that’s been given. The series sees Paul Bettany reprising his role as Vision, the Mind Gem-powered synthezoid revived by Project Cataract during WandaVision (after being killed twice in Avengers: Infinity War) now coping with his restored memories and trying to regain more along with his humanity. The Blacklist star James Spader will also be reprising as the villain Ultron for the first time since Vision destroyed him on his second day of life in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Another reprisal will be seen in Faran Tahir as Ten Rings member Raza, who first appeared and died in Iron Man. Todd Stashwick plays a (likely SWORD-hired) assassin on Vision’s trail to retrieve the technology he possesses in his composition.
Mollica is a Scottish-Italian actor who gained acclaim for his starring role in Sebastian, which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and earned him a British Independent Film Award nomination. His previous TV credits include Paramount+’s TV series adaptation of Sexy Beast, as well as Witness Number 3 and Ridley. His first Disney+ series will be A Thousand Blows, which premieres on February 21, and his next film is Sukkwan Island.
The series has also added cinematographer Christopher Ross, whose resume has revealed the directors. They include showrunner Terry Matalas, who at previous showrunner gigs 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard, directed four episodes of the former and two episodes of the latter. He reunites with Christopher J. Byrne, who also directed episodes 12 Monkeys, as well as American Gods and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The other revealed director is Vincenzo Natali, known for his work on The Peripheral and Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, leading some to believe there could be a horror tinge to the story with its themes of identity, consciousness, and the true meaning of being alive.
