New Sneak Peek At 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once And Always' Releases; Hasbro Sets Next Pulse Fanstream
The 30th anniversary special drops April 19 on Netflix
So apparently too much pink energy is still dangerous, but what about hype energy? Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always, the 30th anniversary special for the Power Rangers franchise, is just 4 days away. Hasbro has released a new clip to tide fans over, and helps explain what makes certain things possible plot-wise.
In it, Billy, played by David Yost explains that he and Alpha (indicated elsewhere to be Alpha 9 and voiced by Richard Horvitz) have been experimenting with the secondary connections to the Morphin Grid, resulting in the creation of proxy Pterodactyl and Tyrannosaurus power coins for the just arrived Kat Hillard (Catherine Sutherland) and Rocky DeSantos (Steve Cardenas) respectively as a contingency. While all powers had been restored for Super Megaforce’s Legendary Battle, Jason, Kimberly and Tommy were captured by Robo Rita while morphed, thus have their coins with them. Rocky had the original Tyrannosaurus coin, it was already connected to the Dragon Thunderzord by the time he became Red Ranger, and not the original Tyrannosaurus Dinozord, and the team was using Ninja Coins when Kat originally joined, so she only ever received the Crane Ninja Coin from Kimberly.
Zack (Walter Emmanuel Jones) is concerned about duplicating active powers, clarifying “too much pink energy is dangerous” in the context of all the teams existing since the line was originally uttered by Zordon. However he is overridden by the urgency of the situation, and Rocky and Kat take the coins. With injuries already reported in Angel Grove, they morph and head out.
But before the special does release, the week will be kicked off right with news. On Thursday, Hasbro announced its next Hasbro Pulse Fanstream will celebrate Power Rangers’ 30th anniversary. It’s happening Monday, April 17 at 11 AM Eastern and seems to be all-encompassing, promising reveals, announcements and pre-orders in the lead-up to the special. This means there might be news about the future of the franchise’s television presence along with the comics and the toys. Still wouldn’t count on movie news yet though. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once And Always premieres April 19 on Netflix.
