Paramount Dates 'Paw Patrol', 'Mutant Mayhem' Sequels And More
From the files of the Police Squad, several films have been given 2025 and 2026 release dates
Well, it’s March now, and as the first anniversary of Sandler’s Handlings approaches, we once again have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem news in our laps, this time pertaining to the sequel being assigned a release date alongside a significant handful of other Paramount films.
The still-untitled sequel from Point Grey Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies directed by the returning Jeff Rowe has been given a release date of October 9, 2026. This gives faith in a weekend that in 2025 has Paramount and Nickelodeon releasing the animated Avatar: The Last Airbender movie from Avatar Studios with an adult Aang and his Team Avatar. Meanwhile, the third Paw Patrol movie, announced for a 2026 just as The Mighty Movie saw its release, has pounced a July 31 date for itself.
Meanwhile, a dozen years of Drebin up a The Naked Gun reboot will finally come to a head with Liam Neeson, who was cast in late 2022, in the starring role, releasing July 18, 2025. It doesn’t have a title yet, but it will be directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island, who co-wrote the draft script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, continuing a relationship that began with Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers. It’s from Fuzzy Door Productions, Seth MacFarlane’s production company, and thus he and Erica Huggins serve as producers.
Elsewhere, Better Man, a musical biopic for Robbie Williams, starts in a limited release this Christmas before expanding wide on January 17, 2025. The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey directs the film he wrote with Simon Gleeson and Oliver Cole. Novocaine, described as a high-concept action film about a sheltered bank executive, played by Jack Quaid, with a rare genetic condition that inhibits the sensation of pain, is set for March 14, 2025. When his co-worker, played by Amber Midthunder, is kidnapped in the midst of the bank being robbed, he is must “turn his greatest liability into his greatest strength”. It is directed by Robert Olsen and Dan Berk, and written by Lars Jacobson. Finally there’s the Dakota Fanning-starring Vicious, written and directed by Bryan Bertino. A young woman must fight for her life and existence as she traverses a disturbing rabbit hole within a mysterious gift thanks to a late-night visitor. It’s set for release on August 8, 2025.
