'Paw Patrol 3' Walks 'The Dino Movie' Title Reveal
The franchise will saur to new heights on familiar ground in July 2026
Paramount and Spin Master’s upcoming third Paw Patrol movie with Nickelodeon Movies is ready to show its talons, feather you’re in the demo or not. The franchise producers revealed Thursday the title to be Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, also releasing the logo and synopsis. The news comes just about a year after the film was dated for July 31, 2026.
The synopsis reads “After their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm, the PAW Patrol crash land on an uncharted tropical island filled with dinosaurs. They meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded on the island for years and has become an expert in all things dino-related. When the PAW Patrol’s arch rival, Humdinger, begins recklessly mining in hopes of exploiting the island for its natural resources, he inadvertently causes a huge, dormant volcano to erupt. The PAW Patrol are thrown into a series of high-stakes, dino-sized rescues bigger than anything they’ve done before, as they must stop Humdinger before everything on the island goes extinct.”
Paramount Dates 'Paw Patrol', 'Mutant Mayhem' Sequels And More
Well, it’s March now, and as the first anniversary of Sandler’s Handlings approaches, we once again have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem news in our laps, this time pertaining to the sequel being assigned a release date alongside a significant handful of other Paramount films.
This shows the movie’s cards as an adaptation of the “Dino Rescue” arc from the long-running Nick Jr. series’s seventh season, an arc which ran in the summer of 2020, though in the States they seemed to break it up and spread it out a bit further into fall. This is much like how the previous film, 2023’s The Mighty Movie adapted the show’s recurring Mighty Pups concept for the big screen. I don’t watch the show, but I suspected it was another bringing of a toyetic aspect of the series to the big screen and sought out any sort of backbone of information to confirm such and boy did I get it. It was introduced with four episodes comprised of six stories, as well as six accompanying shorts. Rex is a paraplegic Bernese mountain dog introduced in that “Dino Rescue” arc who uses a high-tech dog wheelchair for mobility. His expertise was first seen here, as he works with the dinosaurs that live in the Dino Wilds and can understand their language. It’s unclear how much of his physical attributes have been played with here.
Cal Brunker continues to direct the franchise’s theatrical excursions having done both previous, also co-writing the film alongside Bob Barlen as they did, though they had Billy Frolick with them for the first. The voice cast is so unstable with so many child actors that the announcement could only see fit to reveal Mckenna Grace reprising her lead role as Skye, and the two new celebrity grabs, singer Jennifer Hudson and comedian Fortune Feimster. And that’s despite Humdinger, normally voiced by Ron Pardo, a fully-grown adult, being mentioned in the synopsis. Jennifer Dodge, Spin Master’s president of entertainment produces with Spin Master Entertainment colleagues Laura Clunie, and Toni Stevens and company founder Ronnen Harary.
Dodge released a statement that said, “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie brings together two things that preschoolers and their families know and love: our heroic team of pups and the allure of dinosaurs. Seeing this film come together has been an amazing journey thanks to a truly fantastic team of creatives, animators and A-list voice talent who are eager to bring our pups back to the big screen with a colossal theatrical experience.”
Ramsey Naito, the President of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation added, “We are so excited to bring everyone’s favorite canine crew to a whole new, prehistoric world with this latest big-screen adventure. Audiences will get to experience a mashup of two perennial crowd-pleasers—The PAW Patrol and dinosaurs—like never before! We can’t wait to share this latest chapter with kids and families everywhere!”
Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie is going up against Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’s next Spider-Man film set in the latter’s main cinematic universe. Its title still has yet to be revealed, having just moved to that July 31, 2026 date last week, from the week earlier.
