The 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Trailer Scrutinizes Miles's Balancing Act Of Superhero Life
This trailer gets infinite points and all the Easter eggs
Oh boy, 3 AM! For probably midnight Pacific reasons, Sony released the second official trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018’s Best Animated Feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse early Tuesday, and it really says there’s never too much Spider-Man.
The trailer starts with an updated intro from Miles (Shameik Moore), Brooklyn’s only Spider-Man. Life’s going great! Though the half-Puerto Rican is only getting a B in Spanish, and he keeps getting pulled away from family obligations. His parents are worrying. The first confrontation with The Spot happens in a convenience store. Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) picks him up and takes him to the multiversal hub, let’s call it. They meet all sorts of Spider-People including Jessica Drew, who is the very pregnant Spider-Woman (Issa Rae), Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya), Spider-Man India (Karan Soni), and Miguel O’Hara, Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac). He even reunites with Peter B. who now has a daughter, Mayday. We then see all sorts of perils for Miles that beg whether he can balance it all. His decisions and feelings on carving his own story worry 2099 who starts chasing him down and the conflict really starts boiling, where all the Spider-People join in to pit. But what better way to break the tension than an infinite pointing meme with every Spider-Person in the multiverse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'‘s cast includes Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jason Schwartzman, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone and Shea Whigham. The film’s directors are Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kemp Powers The script is written by the first’s writer-producer Phil Lord and producer Christopher Miller, as well as David Callaham.
